They came, they golfed, they giggled!

Volunteer Photographer Lance KinneyWe would like to thank all our volunteers, golfers and donors for their support of the 8th Annual Hit & Giggle Golf Tournament! On September 10th United Way hosted this well-established event benefitting our communities with 100% of the money raised going back to local nonprofit programs focused on education, income and health. This one-of-a-kind benefit featured costume contests, great food and drink at every hole, as well as an after-game cocktail reception including the drawing for a winner of 100 bottles of wine - congratulations to Adam Janette of San Luis Oral Sugery & Dental Implant Center! See a list of our event supporters here and remember these folks and businesses who so generously contributed to our success!

Sending SLO County sudents back to school in style

Horace Morana Unloading Boxes of SuppliesOur 3rd annual Stuff the Bus event was held last month at all three Office Max locations throughout SLO County.  Volunteers handed out lists with items needed to shoppers and collected new school supplies, stuffing three big, yellow buses in Arroyo Grande, Paso Robles and San Luis Obispo.  Donations totaling nearly $23,000 were distributed with the help of Lucia Mar Unified School District, Paso Robles Joint Unified School District and San Luis Coastal Unified School District, and went towards helping support local teachers and students as they readied for the new school year.  KSBY was again our partner as was San Luis Paper Co. which provided collection boxes for all the supplies.  Thank you SLO County for stuffing the buses!
