KidSpree Volunteer

On Sunday, July 24, 2011, the Kohl's stores in Paso Robles, San Luis Obispo, and Santa Maria will all open their doors early to allow local children the chance to shop for back to school clothing.

Sponsor a child for just $100. Visit unitedwayslo.org to donate (any and all amounts are appreciated), or mail your donation, earmarked for "KidSpree" to our PO Box 14309, San Luis Obispo, CA 93406.

Special thanks to the Kiwanis Club of SLO Morning, Lindamood Bell Learning Processes and Santa Barbara Bank & Trust for each sponsoring 10 children, and to Zurn Wilkins for their sponsorship of 30 children!

United Way, SLO Blues Baseball and Wells Fargo sponsored a spectacular Fireworks Show July 2nd which wowed a crowd of over 1600 baseball fans.  The SLO Blues generously donated $1.00 per ticket sale to United Way's Community Impact Fund, for a total of $1,695.00.

United Way would like to thank SLO Blues Baseball and Wells Fargo for their generous support this year.

Stuff the Bus

Stuff the Bus Logo

In collaboration with KSBY and OfficeMax, Stuff the Bus is an annual donation drive for new school supplies which are then distributed throughout San Luis Obispo County, in cooperation with the County Office of Education.  Gather your family, friends or coworkers together and help us provide for local schools, teachers and students.  We are looking for 2-4 volunteers per shift so come on out!

Be a volunteer this year and help us fill the big yellow buses with everything our local schools need to succeed.  For more information visit our website at www.unitedwayslo.org or email us at stuffthebus@unitedwayslo.org

Hit & Giggle

Hit and Giggle

United Way of SLO County is this year's Hit & Giggle host, continuing on a successful tradition established by local nonprofit, Women for Community.  Over the past seven years, this golf tournament has raised thousands of dollars for local programs and we look forward to carrying on that legacy.  Join us as a volunteer or golfer on Saturday, September 10 at Avila Beach Golf Resort for great food, fun and frolic!

In addition to a fabulous day of golfing, you can buy a raffle ticket for the Sip & Giggle Raffle.  You could win 100 bottles of wine or lots of other great prizes.

You can also support the event now by being a sponsor - various levels are available.   For more information contact United Way at (805) 541-1234 or email us at golf@unitedwayslo.org
