Stuff the Bus Success
|
Thank you to everyone who came out and helped us Stuff the Bus! We collected over 2,000 notebooks, 2,000 boxes of crayons, and 3,000 packages of pencils and pens, for about $35,000 worth of school supplies, distributed to the schools most in need where they were collected.
Special thanks to KSBY, Office Max, Meathead Movers, San Luis Paper Company, Lucia Mar Unified School District, Paso Robles Joint Unified School District, San Luis Coastal Unified School District, bus drivers, shoppers, and volunteers, without whom, the event would not have been possible!

California State Employees Charitable Campaign
| United Way of San Luis Obispo County will kick off the 2010 California State Employees Charitable Campaign (CSECC) on September 20. CSECC is the single largest effort among state employees to support health, human services, environmental, cultural, and educational charitable programs. The goal of this year's campaign is to ensure "100% Ask" of every state employee to participate in the CSECC.
During the fall, each state employee is given a payroll deduction pledge form and access to the Donor Resource Guide listing the participating nonprofits. State employees may choose to donate to any 501(c)3 nonprofit, even if it is not listed in the Donor Resource Guide. They also have the option to designate to United Way's Community Impact Fund were 100% of their contribution stays in San Luis Obispo County.
With the convenient option of payroll deduction, donations can be spread throughout the year. For as little as $2 a month, worthy charities are provided with a consistent cash flow to assist them in the planning and implementation of their much needed services. Now, more than ever, they need help.An investment in the CSECC is truly an investment in ourselves, our families, friends and the communities in which we live.
