Spirit
Create forgiveness
This has been such an incredible period of time for me. Life is moving at an astonishing speed and so much is happening I can't keep up with myself.
Difficult events have challenged dear friends, there was a family wedding last weekend, we saw precious friends we haven't seen in years, one son is moving to Uruguay, there are business challenges for others, and on and on. And that is not the half of it.
I pulled out my old Bible Study Bible the other night, looking for a passage of scripture that gives me a sense of peace and direction. I am not a religious person by any means, but I am deeply spiritual and am inspired by wisdom from the world's religions. The Bible is what I grew up with and what I am most familiar with, so I often turn to it during times of stress and overwhelm.
A slip of paper fell from the pages of my Bible Study Bible as I was searching for the passage. On it was a quote that comforted and strengthened me about twenty years ago when someone betrayed me. A friend gave the quote to me and told me to say it over and over until I believed. It worked.
That is a long introduction into the lovely statement I want to share with you today:
"I have absolute faith that the spirit of God within me gives me the power to forgive those who have brought me suffering past and present."
A post-it note attached to the slip of paper read: "It's not what the world holds for you, it's what you bring to it."(Lucy Maud Montgomery) I'm sorry to say there is no source given for the first quote, but the depth of the meaning of both quotes is what I wanted to share with you, along with many blessings today and all days.
"All will be well, and all will be well and all manner of things shall be well." (Julian of Norwich)
