The Greater St. Louis Area Council, Boy Scouts of America, is a United Way agency.
United Way
Greetings!

Thousands of Scouts are enjoying a summer of fun and adventure. They are growing in character, confidence and values because a dedicated leader helped make the Scouting program come alive at camp or during other activities.

The fun you and your Scouts are having this summer is a result of last year's program planning. Successful units take time during summer to keep the cycle of quality Scouting programs going in the unit, district and council.

The council's Program Guide provides a wide range of information to help your unit assemble a great calendar of activities. All volunteers who receive or subscribe to the Duffle Bag newspaper received the new Program Guide earlier this month. Providing a calendar to prospective members and their parents makes a great first impression during School Night to Join Scouting. Download the 2012-13 Program Guide now and refer to it all year long.

As always, contact us if we can be of service to you and your Scouts.

Fall Recruiting Starts With Preview

Medical Forms

Every Scout and leader who attends a long-term camp must have the required forms completed. The BSA recommends that everyone who participates in a Scouting event have an annual medical evaluation by a certified and licensed health-care provider -- a physician (MD or DO), nurse practitioner or physician assistant. Blow 'n' Go Painting

This project is designed for children who can blow OUT of the straw. Close adult supervision is required. Cover your work area with recycled newspaper. With a plastic spoon, place small dots of washable paint on white paper. If paint is thick, add water. Hold a straw to your lips and gently blow OUT onto the paint. Watch the air from the straw move the paint. (Caution: Only blow OUT. Blowing too long or hard could make you dizzy.) Allow to dry. Experiment with different colors, amounts of paint, and placing the straw closer or farther away from the paper. Mix colors to create new shades and tints. Read more...
