--Greater St. Louis Area Council,
Boy Scouts of America Scouting For Food Set For Nov. 12, 19 The largest single-day canned food drive in our community teaches the values of citizenship and service to our youth members and helps thousands of families in our region. Scouts will distribute bags on Saturday, Nov. 12, and return the following Saturday, Nov. 19, to collect the bags filled with canned goods. Remember these important steps: Recruit enough adults to help. Youths need supervision, especially when on busy city streets and rural highways. Good supervision and discipline prevent many injuries.- Pick up your unit's bags. Most were distributed to units at district Roundtable meetings during the first week of October.
- Contact your district's Scouting for Food participation chairman if you need bags.
- Review your unit's assigned territory. Each unit should have an assigned area. Please cover only your unit's assigned territory.
Each year, our Scouts, parents and leaders collect enough food to assist approximately 500 pantries throughout our region with a four-month supply of food. Read more... Help Scouts Earn Religious Emblems |

Leader Tip:
Hand Wrestling Each wrestler advances his right foot and places the outside of it against the outside of his opponent's right foot. They straighten arms and grasp hands. At the word "go," each wrestler tries to knock the other off balance by pulling, pushing or twisting. The player who first moves either foot or touches the floor with his hand or body loses. Tips: If a player starts early, intentionally or otherwise, he has a tremendous advantage. To avoid this, use the following commands: Position: Take your position, clasping hands loosely.
Grip: Grip tightly without bending arms.
Pull: Start wrestling. Play this game in a large room or outside.
