Greetings!
Think warm thoughts! ScoutQuest 100 is just 113 days away!
Hundreds of adult volunteer leaders are working on making this event one that will be remembered for years to come. It will be our council's celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Boy Scouts of America and be held June 4-6 in Forest Park.
Encourage your parents and leaders to subscribe to this newsletter or forward it to them so they can prepare for this fun and exciting event.

Thank you for helping us deliver the promise of Scouting to our young people.

Looking For Photos Of Previous Encampments A council-wide encampment is held approximately every 10 years. Do you have a photo from Rendezvous '90? Maybe a photo from the 1970 celebration in Forest Park that was attended by Lady Baden-Powell? If you have one scanned in a digital format, e-mail it and it will be posted on flickr.com/photos/scoutquest100 Patch Design Here's one of the patches for the weekend for council participants. There will be patches for the staff as well as a patch for Lewis and Clark Council Participants. Visit scoutquest100.org to see other patches.
Where Is Your District Camping?
Units can view a map of Forest Park that shows where districts will camp and where programs will take place during ScoutQuest 100 on June 4-6. Thousands of Scouts, parents and leaders will attend the council-wide encampment. The gathering will be second only to the National Jamboree in the number of Scouts attending a BSA 100th anniversary celebration in 2010. View map...

Leader Tip:
How Much Is 100
Equipment: 100 items for Cub Scouts to count: marbles, pencils,
pennies, etc.
To help the boys better understand how much 100 is, have
them count out 100 marbles, jelly beans, or other small objects; jump 100 times
in place; mark off and run 100 yards; or say "Do Your Best" 100 times (an adult
should tick off the repetitions on a sheet easily visible to the Cub Scouts).
Den leaders: Create your own 100 activities or objects to
count, throw, or guess. Challenge the boys to come up with their own ideas. Source: Cub Scout Program Helps, March, 2010 (PDF) |
