The Greater St. Louis Area Council, Boy Scouts of America, is a United Way agency.
Greetings!
This edition is devoted to sustaining the lifeblood of your unit -- recruitment of new members. Chances are your unit possesses a legacy of providing meaningful and memorable Scouting experiences. That legacy won't continue unless your unit reaches out to welcome, orient and coach new youth members and adult volunteer leaders.
Many resources are available to help your unit spread the word about Scouting in your school, church or neighborhood. Council and district staff and volunteers are prepared to help with your School Night to Join Scouting.
Thanks in advance for all you do to develop character and leadership in our youth members.

10 Ways To Use Facebook For Recruiting
More than 250 million adults use Facebook to keep in touch with friends and family members. During the past year, thousands of adult volunteer Scout leaders joined Facebook and use it to keep connected with other leaders and parents.
"Words To Live By" is the theme of this year's School Night to Join Scouting and recruiting campaign. A series of 30-second television spots were produced. Click on the graphic below to watch Boy Scouts Connor Mueth and Harold Wayne from our council and select, "I am a Scout: Who Am I" and "I am a Scout: Be a Scout."
E-Mail Templates For Recruiting
Your address book is probably full of names and e-mail addresses of parents who would be great leaders or whose child would enjoy and benefit from Scouting. Here's an easy way to send an eye-catching invitation to join Cub Scouts or Boy Scouts. (We're waiting on the Venturing template.)
Add your unit's information to the date, time, location and contact fields. Now you are ready to send.
