| Greetings!
The most important district meeting of the year is the annual Program Preview. Program Preview meetings were moved to June from August. This was done to give unit leaders an earlier start in planning programs. Click on your district in the lower left column for information on dates, times and locations of your Program Preview. Information on camping and training events will be shared along with dates, times and locations of many activities. Make sure your unit is represented at this meeting so you have all the information to plan your program year.
As always, please contact us if we can provide any assistance in helping you provide an outstanding program for your Scouts.

Storm Damage Closes Camps, Service Center
The Southern Illinois Service Center in Herrin, Ill., Pine Ridge Scout Camp in Makanda, Ill., and the S bar F Scout Ranch in Knob Lick, Mo., are closed due to last week's severe storms. All meetings in the Egyptian and Kaskaskia District that are scheduled for this week are cancelled. Hundreds of trees and some structures were damaged by storms that hit the camps on Friday, May 8. No one was injured at either camp. Both properties will be closed for all Scouting activity until Friday, May 29, 2009, due to widespread damage to some trees, structures and utility poles. | Leader Tip:
Make A Simple First Aid Kit Materials: Plastic 35mm film canister or similar plastic container with lid, paint pens, chenille stem, adhesive bandages, antiseptic wipe.
Have adult partner punch two holes, one on either side and near the top of the canister. Decorate the canister with paint pens. Put the ends of the chenille stem through the holes--leaving enough of the length for a belt loop--and twist the ends down on the inside of the canister so there are no sharp points. Fill the canister with adhesive bandages and an antiseptic wipe . Source: Cub Scout Program Helps, June 2009 (PDF) New! Download the 2008-2009 Cub Scout Program Helps |
