The Greater St. Louis Area Council made BSA history.
Jack O'Neill, National Chief of the Order of the Arrow, and Amanda Vogt, National Venturing President, met with President Barack Obama at the White House on Tuesday and presented the Boy Scouts of America's 2008 Annual Report. It marked the first time that one Council had two elected representatives as part of the Report to the Nation delegation. They represented more than 4 million youth members and participants in BSA programs throughout the United States.
Our Scouts were members of a seven-member contingent. The five other members were selected by the National Council of the BSA. You can read about their entire experience at www.blog.stlbsa.org and see photos at www.bsartn2008.org.
Our Council's legacy of outstanding accomplishments is the result of decades of steadfast leadership and unwavering commitment by tens of thousands of adult volunteer leaders. Jack and Amanda express their thanks to all who helped them reach Tuesday's summit. Your dedication and support are building young people of character and outstanding leadership ability.
