The first Cub Adventure camp is just three weeks away. Are you ready for a summer of fun and adventure with your Scouts? Here are some tips to make your experience more enjoyable:

Parent Tip:
What Parents Can Do To Change Their Child's Behavior

Normal behavior in children depends on the child's age, personality and physical and emotional development. A child's behavior may be a problem if it doesn't match the expectations of the family or if it is disruptive. Normal or "good" behavior is usually determined by whether it's socially, culturally and developmentally appropriate. Knowing what to expect from your child at each age will help you decide whether his or her behavior is normal. Read more...

Leader Tip:
Beachball Ballyhoo Game

Required: one large beach ball per patrol/denCub Scout Game

Notes: Good 'Lock-in' type game where boys might try for a longer record all night.

Instructions: Each patrol has a beach ball that they hit into the air as many times as they can without it touching the ground.  No one may hit the ball twice in a row.  Count one point per hit and try for new records.

Optional Competition:

-Use a different colored ball per patrol and allow scouts bat opposing balls out of the way.  No physical contact to inhibit scouts from reaching their ball

-As a troop teamwork exercise, have the entire troop keep one ball in the air and set a troop record.

-With a stopwatch, see how long all the patrol balls can be kept in the air - start over when one touches the ground.
