Greetings!
Why do people give to Friends of Scouting?
For many, Scouting provides special moments that touch our hearts or motivate us to achieve great things. We would like to share a story from Jeff Kendall, President of the Eagle Scout Association.
During Boy Scout Troop 627's trip to the Boundary Waters a few years ago--shortly after this photograph was taken--he noticed a flock of eight eagles perched in a tree. He told his son and the rest of the contingent that he hoped to see another group of eight eagles--himself, the other adult leader and the six young men on that trek. A few years later, five of the six young men achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. It was another special moment when they stood together at their Eagle Court of Honor. Their character and values were forever strengthened by Scouting.
The Council is grateful to all units who committed to a Friends of Scouting presentation at an upcoming Blue & Gold Banquet or Court of Honor. If your unit would like to participate and help our Council continue to succeed, please contact your district executive or Brian Sens, finance director, at (314) 256-3012 or bsens@stlbsa.org.

| Leader Tip:
Balloon Balance
Equipment: Per team: 1 big balloon; 1 small balloon.
Formation: Relay.
Divide the group into teams of six to eight players. Each team is given one large and one small balloon.
The first player of each group, on the word 'Go', balances the smaller balloon on top of the larger one and races to the other end of the playing area. If the top balloon falls off, the player must return to the starting line and begin again.
When the 'run' (or walk) is complete, the player takes both balloons in his hands and runs back to the starting line, where the second player is waiting to race.
The first team finished, and sitting down, wins.
