Greetings!
 | | Our Autumn Walk |
I just got back from the most delightful walk with my pup Duncan. The sun was shining, a cool breeze was blowing, and the leaves on the trees were bursting with color. I didn't know which one of us was more excited, Duncan or me. If I had a tail, I would have been wagging it.
Since last month's Rose Report, things are moving faster and bigger than I could have expected. Today Michael and I hired an assistant!!! (Insert wiggly happy hoopy dance here.) In addition, there are other people entering my orbit that will be collaborating with me on some juicy new opportunities designed to help me help more people. I am so grateful for the amazing doors that are opening!
I don't believe this is a coincidence. Since immediately after the NSA Convention in July where I was a finalist in the "So You Think You Can Speak?" competition, I have gotten serious about manifesting my dreams. I am taking a Transformational Life Coaching program that is already generating incredible results, and the synchronicities are abounding. I have been meditating on the definition of success and what it means to me. Frankly, my definition of success partially involves the acquisition of more green energy. Who wouldn't want more money? I don't know about you, but I would welcome the notion of having a little extra moolah to see a few more movies with my hubby or take a long weekend to enjoy the fall foliage with the fam. But, success does not end with dollars.
To me, true success is my ability to experience joy as much as humanly possible. During my walk with Duncan, I had a moment of pure contentment. Yes, I have a lot to do in order to start to realize my crazy-huge-but-totally-gonna-happen dreams. But in that moment of absolute bliss, I realized that I had already achieved my REAL dream -- to live a life of joy.
Now comes the hard part. How do we hold on to that feeling when the icky stuff arrives? I know I can allow myself to fall into a funk faster than a Kardashian steps in front a kamera. But I also know that every time I make the choice to let my joy slip away, I am that much further from the realization of the good stuff.
Would you characterize yourself as a success? Do you have a powerful ability to experience joy? If not, what is keeping you from living it? Is there a way we can balance our desire for those things that would be awesome to be/do/have/create/give with the awareness of the wonderful life we have RIGHT NOW?
In my experience, joy comes from awareness, and awareness froms from gratitude. When we can stay in our hearts more than in our heads, we stay in that joy frequency longer. We'll milk each moment for every drop of joy juice. As a result, we'll naturally attract those people who want to be in our orbit and can help us build the future we want. Make today filled with joy! Infuse your day with joy, and you will infuse your life with it.
Thank you, dearest, for your ongoing support. I wish you a kick-booty Rocktober filled with laughter, abundance, and special surprises. Shine your light so others can shine theirs!
Let's continue the conversation through Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and email. Until then, I wish you nothing but the best. I look forward to hearing about your BIGness!
In joy,
Theresa

Under the Dome
The following are my ongoing events at Lake Harriet Spiritual Community in Southwest Minneapolis. I hope to see you there soon! Sunday Service My next Celebration Service at Lake Harriet Spiritual Community will be on Sunday, October 7th from 10:30am-11:30am. My services have been full of timely messages, profound meditation, and even a little pre-service spirit hooping! If you are unable to attend in person but want to check out my last service, visit the LHSC YouTube channel. "Hoop in a Group" Workshop I will be teaching a hoop workshop on the same day as my Sunday service, the first Sunday of every month, from 1:00pm-3:00pm starting this month! The class will include hooping basics, yoga, and conscious intention work. I'll bring the hoops, and you bring your willingness to have fun! The cost is $30. Space is limited, so registration is recommended. Are you ready to step into the hoop and let it transform you?
Monday Motivation On the third Monday of every month at 7:00pm, I'll be delivering a new inspirational keynote. Each month's message will be different and will focus on current events and energies that are impacting all of us. I will open each Monday Motivation with some spirit hooping, and then see where the inspiration takes us! The event is FREE and I will be gratefully accepting donations to LHSC in exchange for allowing me to use its beautiful Sanctuary. If you have been an attendee at one of my keynotes or LHSC Sunday Services, you will love Monday Motivation!

Stuff I Love
If you are a long-term reader of the Rose Report, you know I am a hardcore cinephile. I love me some quality motion pictures, and we are entering the yummiest time of the film season.
Michael and I were blessed to see Beasts of the Southern Wild, a new fantasy drama that involves a six year-old girl named Hushpuppy in the most downtrodden coastal area of Louisiana during a torrential storm not unlike Hurricane Katrina. The story weaves her fierce need for survival with her rich imagination and her sacred connection to nature. The cinematography is breathtaking, the acting is flawless, and the writing is pitch-perfect.
This is not an easy movie to watch, especially if you are a parent. However, it is an important one. It reminded me of how blessed I truly am and how one can survive under extraordinarily difficult circumstances. This movie has no CGI or superheroes (although Hushpuppy comes pretty darned close to one), but it will transport you into a realm not often visited. It has earned a 86% at RottenTomatoes.com and won a handful of awards including the prestigious Grand Jury Prize at Sundance and the Golden Camera Award at Cannes.
I hope you can check out this little-known gem in the cineplex, and if not, Save it on your online movie queue. You will be better for having watched it. (Warning: Have plenty of hankies at the ready.)
