Greetings!

Velma Kelly

I adore the musical Chicago, and my fave character is none other than the sassy, sexy Velma Kelly (who I am SURE would be a smokin' hot hooper if given the chance). Catherine Zeta-Jones set the screen ablaze with her interpretation of the character, and she sang and danced her boo-tay off in the song, "I Can't Do It Alone".  I can definitely relate to Miz V.

As my business continues to grow, I am realizing that I can't do it alone. There's just not enough time in the day to accomplish every task required.  I could keep struggling against the tide or find a different way.  What was my solution?  I got the help I needed from the guy I'm sleeping with.

My husband Michael has been a constant source of support in my business, and I would be lost without him.  Over the last few years, he has supported me emotionally but has not been involved in day-to-day tasks.  We recently decided to change that and have him help me more substantively.  As such, he is assuming the management role, allowing me to focus more on those tasks that utilize my time better.  We frequently conduct our meetings through Lake Harriet walk-n-talks, sit-downs at the local coffee shop, and bedtime banter.  (As I write this, I hear him on the telephone negotiating rental space for my women's workshop in Florida in February!)  What a gift he is! He is the peanut butter to my chocolate, and I am 50 shades of in-love with that man.

I bet you are like me in that you have waaaaay too much to do and not enough time to do it.  You have dreams but not the resources to realize them.  You have gifts but don't have the outlets to share them.  You have the potential but not the support to manifest them.  There are millions of us wanting to contribute to the betterment of the world, but we can't do it by ourselves.  Hence the need for a new era of consciousness.

We are entering the Era of Collaboration.

This time in history calls for each of us to reach out to those around us to connect, support and receive like never before. Collaboration helps us plant our seeds on fertile ground, enabling everyone to win, not just the lucky few. You help me, and I help you -- the upward spiral continues.  We have so many resources available to us if we just start looking around and opening up to each other!  The whole is greater than the sum of its parts, and we are living examples of it.

For me, collaborations are sprouting up everywhere, and I am acting upon those opportunities that have the strongest energy. I trust that Spirit is guiding those people to me, giving me the insights to know which collaborations from which to choose, and delivering the benefits of the partnerships quickly and powerfully.  You have the same thing available to you!

What are the collaboration opportunities in your world?  Have you acted upon them, and if not, why?  You can do great things, but you simply cannot do them alone.  You are invited to reach out, open up, support and receive.  Join the Era of Collaboration and watch the magic start unfolding!  I look forward to hearing your success stories.

Thank you for your ongoing support of the HoopWoman Tribe! I am sending you tons of hoopy juju, and I know that you are destined for greatness.  I believe in you.

Let's continue the conversation through Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and email.  Until then, enjoy the appearance of Autumn!

In joy,

Theresa

Around Town
PipJazz Hooping

I'm sooooo excited to be kicking off two new ONGOING local events in Southwest Minneapolis!  Both events will be held at Lake Harriet Spiritual Community at 4401 Upton Avenue South.  Here's a flyer that lists all of my local events at LHSC.

Monday Motivation

On the third Monday of every month at 7:00pm, I'll be delivering a inspirational keynote at Lake Harriet Spiritual Community.  Each month's message will be different and will focus on current events and energies that are impacting all of us.  I will open each Monday Motivation with some spirit hooping, and then see where the inspiration takes us!  The event is FREE and I will be gratefully accepting donations to LHSC in exchange for allowing me to use its beautiful Sanctuary.  If you have been an attendee at one of my keynotes or LHSC Sunday Services, you will love Monday Motivation!

"Hoop in a Group" Workshop

People often ask me if I would teach a hoop workshop, and I finally decided that I am ready!  On the first Sunday of every month from 1:00pm-3:00pm starting on October 7th, I'll be teaching a class that will include hooping basics, yoga, and conscious intention work.  I'll bring the hoops, and you bring your willingness to have fun!  The cost is $30.  Space is limited, so registration is recommended.  Are you ready to step into the hoop and let it transform you?

Under the Dome
LHSC Sanctuary

My next Celebration Service at LHSC will be on Sunday, September 2nd from 10:30am-11:30am.  My services have been full of timely messages, profound meditation, and even a little pre-service spirit hooping!  If you are unable to attend in person but want to check out my last service, visit the LHSC YouTube channel

I will also have my final "Sitting in Sacred Circle with Theresa Rose" on Wednesday, September 5th at 7:00pm.  Due to my increased travel schedule, I've made the difficult decision to suspend these events.  The suggested donation is $5 or more, and I recommend that you wear comfortable clothing.  Feel free to bring a drum and sacred object for our altar too!

Stuff I Love

Power of Focus

I sheepishly admit that I am a shiny object person.  When I am working, I can often find myself down a rabbit hole of some fun initiative instead of executing the fundamentals of building a business.  I'd much rather apply for a TEDx talk than make sales calls.  Moreover, I can get easily distracted by laundry, dirty dishes, grocery shopping and the myriad of other domestic activities instead of doing the things I need to do for my job.  In order for me to create my dream life, I needed to put down the sponge, step away from Facebook, and get focused already.

The Power of Focus is an excellent book by the Chicken Soup Guys (Jack Canfield, Mark Victor Hansen and Les Hewitt).  In it, they describe the importance of developing good habits, delegating those things that are not your strengths, and creating a healthy work/life balance.  It's chock full of helpful advice on how to get rid of Shiny Object Syndrome and start working on those things that are of the highest value both financially and emotionally.  I have read it and re-read it several times, and each time I get a little closer to maximizing the use of my time. If you are ready to get rid of distraction, get focused on what's important, and live a more balanced life, check out The Power of Focus!  It will help you.
