Greetings!

Spring has arrived, and what a glorious time it is!!! I hope that your April was showered with joy and abundance.
The month of May will be full of activity for me, not the least of which is a very busy travel schedule as well as Mother's Day (I love you, Beaner!), my 15th wedding anniversary, and Memorial Day weekend. I am living by my Google calendar right now, and unfortunately, I have the tendency to get caught up in the maelstrom of tasks, expectations, and obligations. When things are busy, they invariably bring up difficulties, and I often get swept into a frantic mode instead of enjoying the beauty of the season.
As you know, when things get dicey, I immediately try to employ one or more of the tools in my Spiritual Toolbox. While meditation, movement, and self-care are always the immediate techniques I turn to, I also have been using mantras as a way to help me ground and get present. The other morning, I happened upon a simple but very effective mantra: I LOVE MY LIFE. Taking some deep calming breaths, exhaling my agitation and stress, and repeating "I love my life" has brought me back to the Now in a perfect way.
The power behind "I love my life" is in its simplicity: it is an opportunity for me to express gratitude for everything that is my life (both the pleasant and the not-so-pleasant), and it also claims my role as owner of it. Ownership of my life allows me to move out of victimhood and into empowerment, where I rightfully belong. Personally, I want to walk in this world feeling like I created my experience instead of the experiences creating me.
I invite you you join me in actively working with the mantra, "I love my life!" this month. When you feel overwhelmed, cranky, or just plain stressed out, take a moment to center yourself and state with intention, "I love my life." Let the feeling envelope you until you radiate with gratitude for all of the amazing things you are blessed to have. Enjoy the crazy, kooky, wild ride that you have created for yourself and watch the stress simply melt away. Won't that be nice?
Thank you so much for your support. and may your month of May be filled with blossoms of hope, happiness, and health. You deserve it.
Take care, and make it a wonderful month!
In joy,
Theresa

Stuff I Love
If you are a long-time reader of The Rose Report, you know that I have a full-on mad crush on the singer/songwriter Jason Mraz. I'm happy to report that my favorite magical musical mystical medicine man has a new album out called Love is a Four Letter Word, and it is nothing short of Divine. Jason once again delivers the goods in an album chock full of love, presence, gratitude and tasty grooves.
As a hard-core Jason fan, I pre-purchased Love is a Four Letter Word as soon as I heard about it and have listened to it non-stop ever since it's arrival in mid-April. It's hard to narrow down my favorite tune on the record, but I guess if I had to choose, it would be "Living in the Moment". This delightful song invites listeners to be "living in the moment, living my life, easy and breezy, peace in my mind. Peace in my heart, peace in my soul, wherever I'm going, I'm already home." Each time I listen to Jason, I am reminded of what is really important. To me, it is more than an album; it is a musical meditation on the awesomeness that is Life.
If you are looking for the perfect music to accompany you on your travels, please consider checking out Jason Mraz. He is not only one of the most adorable men on the planet, his spirit will be the perfect guide as you move into a juicier, more grateful life. I promise!
