2012: Who Will You Be?
Welcome to 2012! Come on in - the water is fine.
The upcoming year is gearing up to be an interesting one, thanks in part to the Mayan calendar. Many people believe that the pre-Columbian Mayan calendar predicts that a catastrophic event or events will take place on December 21, 2012 that will effectively bring an end to the world.
I am not one of those people.
Based on my own intuition as well as specific spiritual teachings I have received, including that of Grandmother Floredemayo, a highly-respected Mayan elder, I believe that the changes the Mayans were predicting have already started. We ARE going to see the end of the world -- as we know it. We we have already seen dramatic shifts in our economy, the environment, and the geopolitical arena that are both positive and negative. However, the most exciting, revolutionary change coming around the bend is not the one we will watch on CNN; it is the one taking place in our own hearts. We are moving away from a dualistic approach to life (us vs. them, "other") and toward a unity consciousness ("All is One"). We are starting to understand that what happens across the planet has an effect on us over here. We are asserting more of our personal, God-given power. We are starting to wake up.
My favorite quote from 2011 was said by the visionary Steve Jobs on his death bed. His last words were "Oh wow. Oh wow. Oh wow!" Here was a man who was arguably one of the greatest creators in our generation, who constantly pushed the envelope of what we thought we could do. His visions and manifestations have literally changed how the world operates, from Twitter updates on iPhones during the Arab Spring to music being created on MacBooks and delivered to all corners of the globe through iTunes. He saw the world in a bigger, brighter light, and yet his last words as he transitioned from this world to the Spirit World was "Oh wow!". It reminded me of the final smile my mother had on her face five years ago as she moved out of her body and joined the angels waiting to accompany her. There is a whole other spiritual realm that is available to us, and now is the time to realize that we are a whole lot bigger than the meat suits we occupy. This realization and full integration of our Spiritual Essence is the shift the Mayans were heralding through their mystical calendar.
Let's use 2012 as the point at which we fully embrace our Complete Selves -- body, mind and Spirit. When we come across the inevitable fear programs forecasting the end of the world, the imminent global financial collapse, and all other forms of the bogeyman that haven't yet been identified, we can tap into that which we KNOW to be true. We are a part of something beautiful that will never end. We are Divine, and everything is happening exactly as it should, regardless of the day on the calendar. We only need to go within to recognize our true power.
Thank you for your support, and I wish you a year full of joy, love, peace, and power. 2012 is YOUR year.
Many blessings,
Theresa

Stuff I Love
I know that there are lots of great classic literature that I "should" be reading by the fire, but I can't help it if my favorite genre is the humorous essay!
I stumbled on this little gem from Sloane Crosley while walking the humor aisle at my local library. I had never heard of it, but the title "I Was Told There'd Be Cake" spoke to me. Like all great essay humorists, Crosley isn't afraid to go to the embarrassing, self-effacing, and downright freaky. She is from the New York publishing world, yet I found her stories totally approachable. I recognized my own journey as she adeptly and hilariously recounted her stories of batsh#tcrazy bosses, nightmare apartment moves, and relationship fantasies gone awry. For a light, fun read by a gifted storyteller and wordsmith, check it out! I have already requested her next book, "How Did You Get This Number" from the library. I can't wait!
