God is my Business Partner

Work Altar
My Work Altar

I got a great lesson in integration last month.  While I was feverishly working on my speaking business (referred to by my husband as TRINC 3.0, short for TheresaRoseINC. 3.0), I temporarily lost sight of the most important element to my business -- My Cosmic Business Partner!  With the help of Spirit (or God or Source or The Universe or The Force or Jesus or whatever is one's Higher Power), I knew that we are all unlimited in our ability to manifest.  Yet, I continued to go down my professional path -- scraping, knocking, and harrumphing the whole time -- like I was the only one that could make success happen for me.  I was pretty good at remembering God in my personal life, but I was rotten at remembering Him at work.

Not anymore.

I know it sounds sanctimonious, but it really is more selfish in nature.  To be honest, I want the words to come easily through my hands and out of my mouth.  I want lots of paying clients to find me so I can help as many people as possible while having sufficient green energy coming my way.  I want everything to go smoothly instead of fighting tooth and nail for every little victory.  I want to sleep well.  I don't want to break out in adult-onset acne.  In order to get all of that, I need to rely on my stronger business partner: Spirit.  The Creator that created the Universe, planets, oceans, babies, trees, shells, flowers, and Johnny Depp certainly can help me with my little career, don'tcha think?  All I need to do is ask for what I want and stay in the Groove.

Remembering this important partnership was not enough; I needed to take action.  As a result, I revamped my workspace to include a work altar.  When I get stressed out at my computer, all I need to do is turn my chair ninety degrees.  Right in front of me sits a powerful, beautiful sacred space that brings me right back into the present moment and connected with the Divine.  Just a few conscious breaths can get me back into the flow.  I can take five minutes out of every work day to hold my Gratitude rock or listen to the tinkling calmness that my rose quartz desk fountain provides.  I can meditate with Jai Uttal on the music box.  At my feet sits a pile of rocks I have collected from Sedona, Peru, and Northern California during spiritual retreats.  In short, I have created a kick-butt work space that harmonizes, not compartmentalizes, my spirituality.  Ever since I did so, I find myself far more productive and more joyful than ever before.

Even if you don't have a workspace that you can customize, you can still bring in sacredness into your everyday.  What about wearing a bracelet or necklace that represents your Source?  Can you put a ring on your key chain that will remind you of your Higher Self?  Maybe you can put on an essential oil instead of perfume every day to reap the aromatherapeutic benefits of nature's nectar?  Even without these tools, you have one sure fire way to bring Spirit into your work, no matter where you are:  Your Breath.  Breathe, deeply, slowly, purposefully.  It will calm you, center you, and allow you to become more receptive to the creative juices waiting for you!  It will bring your Universal Business Partner back into the meeting where It belongs.

Thank you so very much for your support of my work, and I hope that you have a blessed, bountiful and beautiful October!

Take care and make it a wonderful day!

Blessings and love,

Theresa

Under the Dome
LHSC

Starting in October, I am now leading the FIRST Sunday service of every month at Lake Harriet Spiritual Community.  My next service is titled "Alone in the Woods: Hidden Blessings" and will be held on Sunday, October 2nd from 10:30am-11:30am.

At the service I will describe my recent (and very spooky!) spiritual wilderness retreat and the insights I gained while sitting alone in the woods for a weekend.  Be prepared to laugh and learn as my alter-ego Nervous Nellie appears in full freak-out and discover how you can incorporate the powerful blend of surrender/empowerment into your own life.  I am delighted to have Kirtan singer Susan Shehata join me once again as my musical guest for the morning!  Please join us for potluck immediately following the service.  Bring a dish to share and visit with other like-minded members of LHSC!

Finally, I'm so excited to announce that Alison Scott will be performing a fundraiser concert at LHSC on December 8th!  Tickets are $10 each and all proceeds go to LHSC.  If you are like me and can't get enough of this musical powerhouse, please check her out at the Hopkins Center for the Arts on Tuesday, October 25th as well.  You are guaranteed to have a fabulous time and can learn some of the songs she'll be singing at our event in December! One can never have too much Alison.

Stuff I Love

Daily Om

When I was writing my Daily Doses of Mojo for October, I realized that I was readily dispensing daily bits of wisdom to others, but I was missing it for myself!  As a result, I signed up to receive the daily inspiration message and horoscope from Daily Om, a web site dedicated to spiritual development, empowerment and healing.  Each day's message has been exactly what I wanted to hear, and I find myself spending the few minutes reading as a mini-meditation.

While the tidbits aren't nearly as sassy (or brief) as my own Daily Doses of Mojo, I find the extra reminders are helping me to set a positive intention for the day.  If you like my Daily Doses of Mojo, you may enjoy the information provided on Daily Om as well.  You can never have too many positive reminders!
