May Days

I love the month of May, and this one in particular is going to be splendiferous! First of all, Michael and I get to celebrate our 14th wedding anniversary on the 18th. (Has it been 14 years already?!) It is such a tremendous feeling to be more in love with my hubby now than when I married him in 1997 (and believe me, that was a heck of a lot!) The myriad of ups and downs, successes and failures, births and deaths, have made the relationship stronger than ever before. It's pretty easy to fall in lust, but it's a lot more challenging to stay in love when everything else around you is wobbly. Thank you, Michael, for BEING. I dig ya!
Mother's Day is another blessed moment of celebration this month. It's hard to believe that our li'l Bean is almost TEN years old! Wow. I blinked and suddenly he morphed from a giggling baby to a poised young lady. The Mother's Day holiday not only let's me bask in the glow that is motherhood (and get breakfast in bed!), but it also gives me a chance to do a grateful shout-out to my own mother, who passed away in 2006. What a gift it is to be a mom. I never thought I could love as much as I do until that little pipsqueak came out of my body and into my life.
This May also finds me busy busy busy with my keynote speaking biz. I am lucky to be performing "Finding Your Mojo" for several clients, and I am in the process of launching my newest keynote dedicated to direct selling organizations titled "The Zen of Riding Shotgun in a Pink Cadillac". In "Riding Shotgun", I get to share the lessons and gifts I received throughout my life as a Mary Kay Kid. Not only is it a blast to inspire entrepreneurs building their own business, but I also get to have a connection with my mother and her memory. It is sweet indeed. I like to think that Mom would be proud of me sharing her wisdom to a whole new generation of people.
Finally, May is offering me a juicy opportunity to go deeper into my spiritual practice. For the first several days of this month, I will be on a spiritual retreat with some fantastic students from the Center for Sacred Studies and my teacher, Jyoti. This retreat is the second of five that will take place this year, and each one takes me to previously uncharted inner worlds. I am learning to let go of old images of what I think I "should" be, embracing the unknown, and trusting more fully in the Divine Power that resides within. What a glorious time! Yes, events are challenging and we are being tested beyond what we ever thought possible. However, the challenging times lets us find our true measure when we embrace our Spirit.
I hope your month of May will be filled with big hugs, sloppy kisses, great adventures, big accomplishments, and quiet moments of grace. Find some time to get outside and enjoy some fresh air! It will do wonders for your state of mind.
Thank you for your continued support, and make it a wonderful day.
Blessings,
Theresa

Under the Dome
So many exciting things are happening at LHSC this month!
My next service is titled "The Spirit of Spring!" and will be on Sunday, May 15th at 10:30am. I will be sharing a joyful message on how we can tap into the power and beauty of Spirit during this magical season of Spring. My special musical guest will be world-class musician Michael Monroe! If you haven't had the pleasure of seeing this PHENOMENAL musician live, I encourage you to take this opportunity. He is fantastic. We look forward to connecting with you for a morning of renewal and rejoicing!
I am also incredibly excited about hosting the upcoming screening of WisdomFilms on Saturday, May 21st, 7:00pm. WisdomFilms isn't a movie; it's a visual meditation offering profound teachings from some of the world's greatest spiritual teachers including Deepak Chopra, Ram Dass, Thich Nhat Hahn, Bob Proctor, Elizabeth Kubler-Ross, and Jyoti, my very own spiritual teacher from the Center for Sacred Studies. Each spoken-word meditation is accompanied by eye-popping nature photography and a mesmerizing soundtrack. Visit the WisdomFilms web site to watch the brief movie trailer. Please join me for this one-of-a-kind evening of life-affirming meditation and contemplation! You won't want to miss it. Tickets are $5 each.
Finally, I would like to let you know about the bi-annual Psychic Fair at LHSC on May 14th-15th. The fair has over a dozen healers and readers, informative workshops, and a vendor exhibit that is sure to inspire. Please visit the LHSC web site for more information. It is one of our largest fundraisers of the year, and your participation would be greatly appreciated. You can go to the fair after attending my Sunday Celebration Service!

Stuff I Love
I love witnessing a movement in process!
A few months ago, I received an email from someone associated with the Awakening the Dreamer program, of which I am a part. She mentioned a new documentary that had not yet been released called I Am. After receiving her email, I immediately went to Facebook (don't I always?) and subscribed to its fan page. Since then, I had learned about the wildly successful premier of I Am, the subsequent screenings across the country, a rapidly growing following, and most recently, an appearance on Oprah. Like What the Bleep Do We Know? and The Secret, it seems clear that I Am is destined for great things.
Several days ago I was surfing Facebook before the work day began and noticed that I Am was finally coming to Minneapolis -- that evening! Moreover, Tom Shadyac, the director, was going to speak afterward. To top it all off, my BFF Jean was in town helping me with some accounting stuff, and she would love that type of thing. How serendipitous it was for a small movie that was generating so much buzz to be in my hometown that evening where my bestest buddy and I could attend! (To add to the magic, Jean had just heard Tom Shadyac being interviewed on NPR and made a mental note that she wanted to see it.) The Universe provided us with enough signs: we definitely needed to attend.
Since I Am is about what was wrong with the world and what we can do to fix it, I thought that my nine year-old daughter Emma might want to join us too. The three of us had a fun Girls Night Out dinner on the town and went to a sold-out show at the Uptown Theatre. While Emma was one of the only children in the theatre, she understood it all and was right there with the rest of the enthusiastic audience. I was so grateful that she was able to enjoy this entertaining, powerful, and inspirational film as much as Jean and I did.
I encourage you to visit the I Am web site and watch the two-and-a-half minute trailer to see what it's about. If you are interested, click on the Find a Theatre link to see if the movie is visiting your neck of the woods. Finally, if you want to be a part of the movement as this movie starts spreading like wildfire, join the Facebook fan page dedicated to the movie. One last step you can take is to Save it on your Netflix queue so you make sure to at least check it out when it is available on DVD.
I Am lifted my spirits, gave me encouragement about the state of our planet, and reminded me about the enduring power of love. I HEARTily recommend it!
