2011 Creations
I love new beginnings. The new year brings with it a chance to go inward, increase awareness, and consciously co-create. It is a time for us to let go of the woulda-coulda-shouldas from the previous year and start fresh. Ringing in the new year is like giving your soul a power wash.
I spent much of the last day of 2010 in meditation, contemplation and creative writing. I wrote in my fancy new journal that my niece Briana gave to me at Christmas, jotting down all of the successes and opportunities (both realized and unrealized) from 2010. While writing, I uncovered hidden piles of shame, sadness, and anger that I had buried beneath a mountain of To-do lists. I recognized the instances when I succumbed to fear instead of embracing my power. I sheepishly admitted to the many times where I let my head dictate my actions instead of my heart. I sadly recalled the many moments when I felt alone and afraid, unwilling to reach out to Spirit for help.
However, my introspection and expression also allowed me to acknowledge the many successes I had that went unnoticed or minimized. Looking back on my list, I had an amazing 2010, both personally and professionally!! I was filled with intense gratitude for the year of growth and self-discovery, and I took a few moments to truly appreciate the hard work both my husband Michael and I did to survive (and sometimes thrive) in what would be characterized as one of the most difficult years we have ever had. I can look back on 2010 as the year I morphed from an author who wanted to get into the professional speaking business into a dynamic motivational speaker and member of the National Speakers Association who had the privilege of inspiring thousands of people across the nation with her keynote presentation, "Finding Your Mojo". Not too shabby for twelve months of effort!
Unfortunately, it's the natural inclination for most of us to look at the glass half-empty. During our endings and beginnings, we tend to obsess over those things we didn't do more than celebrate the things that we did. Let's take this special moment in time to change that behavior and look at what wonderful things were accomplished last year and what delicious opportunities await us in 2011. I would like to share with you my list of 2011 co-creations which include but are not limited to the following goals:
- Honor my physical body by joyfully moving it every day as a sacred act of self-love, and consciously interact with the food I consume
- Express my creativity through writing a new comedy program and finishing my second book
- Expand my relationship with Spirit through daily meditation and deeper spiritual instruction
- Motivate and inspire as many people as possible by presenting my keynote programs across the country
- Contribute to the healing and sustainability of the planet by facilitating multiple "Awakening the Dreamer" symposiums
- Support my husband and daughter on their individual journeys in any way I can
The end of my journal entry summed up my plans for 2011 in a few short words:
LIVE JUICY LET GO RECEIVE BE BIG
What do you want to create this year? Are you ready to let go of negative thinking that keeps you from being as big as you can be? Is 2011 the year that you transform into the butterfly you were meant to be? Choose it, declare it, keep shining a light on it, and allow for Spirit to help you every step of the way. I can't wait to hear all about your successes this year!
Thank you so much for your support and appreciation of my work. I am looking forward to sharing more with you and celebrating this yummy thing called life. Enjoy your January, and let those creative juices flow!
Blessings and hugs,
Theresa

Under the Dome
December was a fantastic month at Lake Harriet Spiritual Community! I was thrilled to have Alison Scott perform at my Sunday service on December 19th, and the Christmas Eve Candlelight Celebration with Mick Sterling was beautiful and heartfelt. Thanks goes out to those of you who attended!
This month's Celebration Service will be on Sunday, January 16th from 10:30am-11:30am. The title of the service is called "Starting 2011 with a Clean Slate" and will include a message on how to supercharge your new year's resolutions and 2011 goals through the releasing of old wounds and past "failures". Spirit can help us clean the slate and get us ready for wonderful new creations! I hope you can join me in celebrating our new beginnings.

Stuff I Like
I don't know about you, but I have always been a bit confused about the ins and outs of the economic collapse of 2008. I know my family and I have personally experienced the pain from it, but I was ignorant as to how and why it unfolded. Terms like credit default swaps, derivatives, TARP, and a myriad other complicated financial structures were bandied about by the media talking heads, most of which were beyond my comprehension.
Then I saw Inside Job.
Inside Job is a powerful, engaging documentary narrated by Matt Damon that clearly articulates exactly how the global financial crisis occurred. Moreover, it tells us who knew it was going to happen before it took place, and who benefited from it. After seeing this movie, I was enraged, saddened, and disappointed that a tragedy of this magnitude could have been avoided if not for the unbridled greed of a select few. This movie is non-partisan as the corruption is abundantly evident on both sides of the aisle. If you want to learn how the global economy was crippled and who is responsible for the mess, I highly encourage you to see Inside Job at your local theater or save it in your queue at Netflix. It is sure to be nominated for Best Documentary at the Academy Awards this season and has earned an impressive 97% on RottenTomatoes.com.
The first step toward reclaiming our economic power is to understand how we lost it in the first place. Inside Job will help you do it.
