FEATURED READER RESPONSE
"A great book for the bedside - bite-sized chapters with plenty of
depth, and some very funny turns of phrase. I wanted to re-read it
again immediately. Loved the candor and the humor - Theresa is a
refreshing and authentic voice. May her life's journey continue to
unfold in wonderful and amazing ways - so that we can all read about
it!" You can purchase Opening the Kimono on my web site, Amazon, or your favorite local bookstore.
If you have already read it, I would be most grateful if you would tell a friend about it and write a 5-star Review for Amazon.
Thank you for your support!

Hot Fun in the Summertime!
Summertime!!! I love it. After being far too sedentary during the winter months, I have recently rediscovered the joy of bike riding. We live right next to a beautiful preserve with miles of paved bike paths, and just this morning, I saw a doe and her fawn hanging out amongst the wildflowers during my daily ride. What an magical way to kick off a workday!
Emma has been at day camp since school let out, and she is blissed-out on all of the Summer activities the camp provides. In addition to providing clever games, dance competitions, educational activities, and playground frivolity every day, they also offer weekly field trips to the city pools, the zoo, the theatre, and even the amusement park at the Mall of America! (I'd rather have someone else take her to the Mall of Hysteria than me any day.) The little peanut is sporting a perpetual grin and a wicked tan line.
Michael is having fun in a different, but no less important way. He recently started working at a consulting firm which provides coaching and software solutions to financial advisors. It is a perfect blend of his skill set, background, and interests, not to mention it's providing some much-appreciated green energy! It has been wonderful to see him enjoy his work again.
My work is keeping me very busy, and my Fall speaking season is just around the corner. Now that I have the house to myself in the daytime, I am toying with the notion of starting my second book. I have some ideas, but nothing is keeping me up in the middle of the night. When Spirit starts waking me up at 2:00am every night, I'll know I should start writing.
Even with all of the crazy activities we have going on in our lives, the three of us are making a concentrated effort to enjoy the outdoors. In no time at all, the temperature will start to get a wee bit chillier, and before we know it, there will be snow on the ground. We have realized that Minnesotans are experts on seizing the moment. When it's nice out, you go outside, daggummit!!! When you can steal away even a few minutes out of doors, you take it. The other night, some friends and I enjoyed happy hour on the patio of a local restaurant. When I go to my sister-in-law's house lately, we always eat meals outside. Michael, Emma and I try to go for family bike rides around Lake Harriet at least a few times every week. The overriding message of my Minnesota Summer is this: Don't miss out on opportunities to have fun when they present themselves to you!!!
Are you having fun this Summer? I know we are all busy in our lives, but let's not forget that part of the reason we are here on this planet is to enjoy the ride! I encourage you to take a few minutes every day to dedicate toward the pursuit of happiness. You will be amazed how having a little bit of extra fun will not only make you feel better, but it will also make you more productive in the long run. So get out there and start having some hot fun in the Summertime!
As always, I am so very grateful for the opportunity to share some Mojo with you every month. Take care, and have a fantastic August!
Blessings, and make it a great day.

Under the Dome
Last month, I was privileged to conduct ministerial services on July 11th at the Lake Harriet Bandshell and on July 18th at Lake Harriet Spiritual Community. I definitely feel like I am finding my groove as a modern mystic minister! I will be leading the Celebration Services at Lake Harriet Spiritual Community on the THIRD Sunday of every month. My next service is called "And the Healing Has Begun" and will be on Sunday, August 15th at 10:30am at LHSC. I will be sharing a message of healing and transformation through the act of
Ho'oponopono, an ancient healing practice from Hawaii. Ho'oponopono
literally means, "to make things right". We will discuss how we can
effect the profound healing of our planet, the environment, our
community, and ourselves through the conscious expression of
accountability, love, forgiveness, and gratitude. And wait, there's
more!!
Michael Monroe,
one of the Twin Cities premier singer-songwriters, will be our special
musical guest! Please join us under the dome to enjoy a morning of
inspiration, Divine connection, beautiful music, and community
fellowship.

Stuff I Like
Michael and I went to the box office smash Inception a few weeks ago and LOVED it! It has been a very long time since I have been in a sold out movie theatre where every single person was totally riveted throughout the film. The nuances of Inception are so complex that it cannot be truly captured in a sentence or two. In a nutshell, it is a psychological/sci-fi thriller that delves into dreams and levels of consciousness. Christopher Nolan is its incredibly talented director who previously directed The Dark Knight and Memento, one of my favorite movies of all time. (Put Memento on your Netflix queue!) Inception is one of those films that you'll talk about well after you've left the cineplex. It received an 87% on RottenTomatoes.com, and it's well worth it to see in the theatres instead of waiting until it comes out on DVD. Oh yeah, one more thing: it stars Leonardo DiCaprio. Yummmmmm. |
