FEATURED READER RESPONSE
"I love this book! The first time I read it, was in one sitting! I
couldn't put it down. I could directly relate to so many of the
experiences shared and it helped me learn about and deal with some of
my own...stuff. You'll laugh, you'll cry and you'll be inspired!" You can purchase Opening the Kimono on my web site, Amazon, or your favorite local bookstore.
If you have already read it, I would be most grateful if you would tell a friend about it and write a 5-star Review for Amazon.
Thank you for your support!

Follow the Energy; Release the Outcome
As many of you know, I recently auditioned for Oprah Winfrey's newest reality-show competition, "Your OWN Show", to be shown on her new cable network. After having received several messages from a variety of people that I should throw my hat in the ring, I decided to audition for a program I created "Mojo Makeovers with Theresa Rose". Since I don't do anything in a half-baked way, I took it one step further and flew my butt out to California to participate in one of the open call auditions. Long story short: I didn't get called back for the on-camera audition. (Sniff sniff!) Here's how it all went down...I flew to Orange County on Friday, 6/19 and stayed in a "reasonably priced" (also known as totally skeazy) hotel conveniently located between Highway 5, the Long Beach Highway and the train tracks. (My bed hasn't rumbled this much since I lived next to the El train in Chicago!) A friend of mine who went to the New York audition a few weeks earlier told me that I should arrive very early the next morning, as it would undoubtedly be packed with people. I woke up at 1:15am and decided to head over to the audition site. After several hours of waiting in line, running with the teeming masses, jumping over police tape, elbowing other Oprah wannabes and waiting some more, I ended up being one of the first people to audition. (I'm short, but I'm scrappy!) The casting agent told us to be powerful, enthusiastic, and succinct in our pitch. We would only have a few seconds, and we needed to make it count.
When it was my turn to audition, I stood up and brought the Mojo in a big, bad way. Within a few seconds, I had everyone in the tent laughing, nodding, and clapping. I gave a passionate, concise, powerful pitch as to why "Mojo Makeovers with Theresa Rose" would make for fabulous television. The casting agent gave me all of the verbal and non-verbal cues that she was very impressed with me. By 7:30am, I was on my way back to the Bates Motel, awaiting my phone call to go to the video callbacks the next day.
But the phone never rang.
I'll be honest; that night was horrible. I kept checking my phone to make sure the ringer was on, the volume was up, and the batteries were charged. By midnight, I realized that I wasn't going to get the call, and after shedding a few tears, I attempted sleep. Upon waking after a fitful night, I realized that I had another day to spend in Orange County with absolutely nothing to do. I was sorely tempted to wallow in my misery, eat naughty food (the hotel was right next to the In-and-Out Burger!), and watch bad reality TV all day long. I had clearly lost my Mojo. I asked myself, what would Theresa Rose tell Theresa Rose to do in this instance? Simple! I would employ the proven Mojo Boosters I describe all of the time in my speaking engagements: Self-care, Play, Presence, Mindfulness and Gratitude.
At 7:00 am, I got my tushie out of bed, got showered and dressed, and headed for the beach. I took a long walk on the pier, sat on a boulder on the breakwater, and watched the surfers. Through meditation, I connected to Spirit and asked for the guidance that I needed to move out of victimhood ("Why not me? How come I wasn't chosen? What's wrong with me? Boo hoo!") and back into my power. Like a flash, I understood that this audition process, like life itself, was just like surfing. Some of the surfers were endlessly waiting for that perfect wave, never really taking a chance. Some of the surfers would ride for a while and then fall. A few of them would have the fortune of riding the entire way to the shore. Each one of them wasn't really concerned about a particular wave; rather, they were in the water because it brought them joy. Period. Winning "Your OWN Show" was the same way. Some of us took the opportunity to audition. Some will go through callbacks. A few will ride into the finals, and one will ride to the shoreline, receiving his or her own show. Just because I may not ride to the shore doesn't mean I shouldn't get in the water! The whole point of this playground called Life is about experiencing joy, not about what accomplishments you rack up.
When Spirit gives you an opportunity to ride a juicy wave, you get up on your board and try, dagnabbit! I was so grateful for the opportunity to go after my dreams, because I had asked for my own show for as long as I can remember. When given the chance, I didn't want to say "No thanks" or "I'm too scared" as a response. If you keep saying "No" when Spirit gives you the opportunities you ask for, It will stop giving them to you. Yes, this one didn't work out for me. But I can hold my head up high that I had the cajones to go for it in the first place. My actions communicated to the Divine that I am open for business to be as big and powerful as I can be! The mantra of "This or something better" has sustained me throughout the process.
I am most grateful to those of you who voted for my audition video! I received over 2,000 votes in just under two weeks! More than just the votes, I was most moved by the numerous emails and comments of support that people took the time to write. Your words gave me further evidence that I am on the right path and living my Divine Purpose.
What are the messages from Spirit that you are getting? Are you acting upon them, or is fear keeping you from getting in the water? You cannot control the outcomes of your actions, but you can follow the energy. When you follow the energy toward your Divine Purpose, you will always be rewarded. You may not know exactly how it will unfold, but you can trust that everything is happening exactly as it should. Be fearless!!! Be bold!!! Live juicy!!! This isn't a dress rehearsal, so what are you waiting for?
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your ongoing support. I am so blessed to share some Mojo with you every month. Be good to yourself, and have a fabulous July!
Blessings, and make it a great day.
Theresa

Under the Dome
I'm so excited to announce this new section in the Rose Report! "Under the Dome" will highlight some current activities of Lake Harriet Spiritual Community, my spiritual home in the Twin Cities. On June 27th, I was deeply honored by being elected as LHSC's newest Ministerial Guide. As a Ministerial Guide, I have the great fortune of conducting Sunday celebration services once a month (10:30am). The other three Sundays are performed by a guest speaker and my two MG counterparts, Lou Longmire and Carol McCormick. If you are located in the Twin Cities area and have not checked out LHSC yet, I encourage you to do so! We will be having a special celebration service on Sunday, July 11th from 10:00am to 11:00am at the Lake Harriet Bandshell. At that service, I will be performing services along with Lou and Carol, and our special musical guests will be Debbie Duncan and Mary Louise Knutson. It is sure to be an exciting event! Please come out and join us on the shores of Lake Harriet to get a big ol' dose of Spirit!

Stuff I Like
Here is a gem of a movie that won the Oscar for Best Foreign Film in 2009. El Secreto de Sus Ojos (The Secret in Their Eyes) is hard to characterize. It is a mystery, love story, political thriller and comedy all rolled into one delicious package. The story involves Benjamin, an Argentinian criminal court employee who is obsessed by an unsolved murder. The acting is flawless, the writing is exceptional, and the direction is mesmerizing. It has been a long time since I've seen a movie that made me care so much about the characters and had me biting my nails wondering how it would end! I loved The Secret in Their Eyes, and I know you will too. It is still in limited release at art house cinemas all over the country. If you don't have access to it, be sure to save it on your Netflix queue!
