Resolve to Save a Life in 2010
|
What resolution could be more important than saving a life? The problem of pet overpopulation, abandonment and neglect is so large in Atlanta that it's easy to feel overwhelmed, helpless and unable to make a difference. But there is one very important life-saving act you can do: foster. With more than 219 homeless pets being euthanized in the metro area every day, AARF is desperately seeking individuals or families who can open their home temporarily to a dog or cat waiting to be adopted. As a foster parent, you will watch amazing transformations in your foster pet as he or she becomes healthy, confident and ready for a forever home. Seeing the happy endings of adoption are among the most rewarding volunteer experiences you can have. AARF pays for the vet care, food and supplies. You provide the shelter, love and socialization. You will receive orientation, a regular newsletter, training (if applicable) and the rewarding feeling of watching a homeless pet find his or her forever home. Click here for more information and to fill out an application. E-mail foster@aarfatlanta.org or call (678) 318-1886.
