Johnny Khamis for San Jose City Council
| |
San Jose City Council candidate Johnny Khamis is a man who really appreciates the importance of one vote. That was the final margin of his lead as frontrunner in the June primary in a six candidate field. As he moves to the runoff election, financial advisor Khamis believes his knowledge of finance and his passion for community involvement make him the ideal candidate. Johnny Khamis says, "It is time San Jose got its financial house in order. I will use my 18 years as a financial advisor to collaborate with fellow City Council members to create and implement new and effective ways to save money and solve our city's budget crisis." It's a top priority for Johnny to protect city services. To do so, he realizes that efficiencies and reforms are necessary. He has proposed innovative ideas for improving planning permitting, city loan financing, employee benefit plans, and more. Johnny Khamis is running in San Jose's District 10, which includes Almaden Valley and Blossom Valley, an area relatively favorable to GOP candidates. See the district map here. Khamis has important experience working with government, having chaired both the San Jose Small Business Development Commission and the county Human Relations Commission. Johnny has also been active in the community as a member of Almaden Cares (teen driving safety), Almaden Kiwanis, and school organizations to support his sons. Not to be overlooked is that Johnny also volunteers as coach of his son's Lego Robotics Team at Los Alamitos Elementary School. Johnny Khamis was raised in the City of San Jose and remembers fondly the orchards that stretched over so much of the city then. He attended local schools and spent much of his youth exploring San Jose on his bicycle. After graduating from Oak Grove High School, Johnny went on to San Jose State University to earn his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management and Communication. He used his education, knowledge and entrepreneurial spirit to start his own company, Western Benefit Solutions, where he is the CEO. The company provides financial advice and employee benefits assistance. Johnny is the financial advisor and personal manager of over 200 private and business accounts. Johnny and his wife, Juliana, have made their home in Almaden Valley with their two sons. You can attend the fundraiser for Johnny on September 12 (see the Event list). You can learn more about Johnny on his campaign website, johnnykhamis.org.

Republican National Convention Launches Romney-Ryan
It was my privilege to serve as a California Delegate to the Republican National Convention in Tampa this past week. I wanted to share with you some of the highlights, especially some things you may not have seen on prime time television.
- We heard the amazing success stories of companies like Sports Authority and Staples that credit much of their success to the investment, support and guidance from Romney and Bain Capital.
- We heard the gratitude from Olympians like speed skater Dan Jansen and Miracle on Ice hero Michael Eruzione for Romney's rescue of the 2002 Winter Olympic Games
- We heard from some of the many capable women who served in Governor Romney's Massachusetts administration about his commitment to a diverse leadership team.
- We learned from many about Romney's quiet commitment to helping others when they needed help the most.
For me, the most compelling reason that change is needed is that it is now clear that Obama's economic strategy has failed.
- Federal stimulus spending wasted money we didn't have and provided no long term benefit.
- Obama expanded entitlement spending with Obama Care when his own deficit commission recommended reducing entitlements.
- Obama has consistently increased government regulation and bureaucracy when he should have been cutting it.
We were reminded why a President who tells entrepreneurs "you didn't build that" will never be successful at restoring the economy:
- A President that does not respect those who create jobs can never provide leadership required for job creation.
We must all do what we can to change the leadership and direction of our Country. Talk to your friends, colleagues and family about why it is so important to elect Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan. If you can contribute, please attend one of the upcoming fundraising events. Consider helping out in Nevada or at your local GOP headquarters. In the words of Paul Ryan - Let's Do This!

Call for GOP Volunteers to go to Nevada as Poll Observers Saturday, Oct. 20 - Friday, Nov. 2 and Election Day - November 6th. Reno, Nevada
The Democrats have been able to get many people to go to Nevada to "register people to vote". In past elections, this strategy has resulted in questionable registrations. The only way to combat this problem is with POLL OBSERVERS. One may vote in Nevada at Polling Places for 14 days of "Early Voting", as well as on Election Day, Nov. 6. Please contact Pat Sheehan if you or friends would be able to travel to Reno to be a POLL OBSERVER during Saturday, Oct. 20 through Friday, Nov. 2 or Election Day - November 6th.
Possible assistance with accommodations is available. Hope you can volunteer! Pat Sheehan SPARC Member Nevada Clean Up the Vote Member 650 814-1751
