Elect the Munger/Constant Team for Santa Clara County Republican Central Committee

The Santa Clara County Republican team led by County Chairman Charles Munger Jr. and San Jose Councilman and Party Vice Chair Pete Constant has earned election to the Santa Clara County Republican Committee in the June primary.

Since the new leadership was elected in February, the Santa Clara County Republican Party has made a major effort to support Measure B, the San Jose pension reform measure, elect a Republican council member, and educate Republican voters in San Jose about pension issues.

The party has been a key player in the coalition with San Jose Mayor Chuck Reed, the San Jose Chamber of Commerce, the Silicon Valley Taxpayers Association and members of the San Jose City Council to bring fiscal responsibility to the Bay Area's largest city.

The county Party endorsed Measure B, the Mayor's pension reform plan, and with the leadership of Pete Constant, put on a profitable Lincoln dinner to raise needed funds.  This event helped fund party member communications mailings to San Jose's Republican voters citywide in support of Measure B and Republican candidates.

The Republican county leadership also recognized a great opportunity in San Jose Council District 10, Republican-friendly Almaden Valley, where the incumbent is termed out.  The Party joined Councilman Pete Constant, Republican Supervisor Mike Wasserman and GOP State Senator Sam Blakeslee in endorsing San Jose Unified Trustee Leslie Reynolds and has supported her with mailings and walking.

Munger and Constant have assembled a broad-based team of candidates for Republican Central Committee for the June election.  The 21 candidates in five supervisorial districts represent a cross section of Santa Clara County's neighborhood, economic and cultural spectrum.

This team has earned the support of major Republican leaders in the county, including Senator Sam Blakeslee, Supervisor Mike Wasserman, past Republican elected officials Pat Dando and Don Gage, and more.  You can see a list of the team's endorsers and candidates.

As we approach the primary election on Tuesday, I hope you can help get out the vote for Republican candidates and local ballot measures.  Even though the Presidential Primary has been decided, there are still several important races, and Republicans need to show up at the polls.

With the "top-two" primary system, it is crucial that candidates like Elizabeth Emken receive enough votes to face Senator Feinstein in November.  Because there are only six Democrats running, and fourteen Republicans, the top two Democrats could prevail if Republicans don't turn out on Tuesday.

If you have questions about some races, feel free to refer to the Highlighted Races and the Voter Guide on the BayAreaGOP.com website.  The Voter Guide links to quite a bit of useful information including a list of Bay Area Candidates and links to the Secretary of State's campaign finance data. Visit the Links page and click on your County GOP Committee or an organization in your area to see if they need volunteers to help get out the vote.

In addition, the California Republican Party has made a personalized voter guide available.

Please feel free to forward this email to all of your friends to encourage them to volunteer up until Election Day, and to turn out to support Republican candidates and causes.  (There's a blue Forward link at the bottom of this newsletter.)

Following Tuesday's election, I will continue to keep you informed of opportunities to participate in Bay Area Republican events as we all work together toward victory in November.

Best regards,

Luis
