Dr. Oz Promotes Whole Grains on Oprah
Stone Mill

Dr. Oz says that eating whole grains isn't just the latest craze-they offer multiple benefits to your health. He notes that whole grains can reduce cholesterol and high blood pressure and even help prevent heart disease, cancer, and diabetes. He explains that whole grains help flush fat and cholesterol out of your system and provide powerful antioxidants that help you stay healthier, look younger and live longer.

Dr. Oz says when you're looking at bread labels, here's one thing to keep in mind to maximize your family's health. It's got to say '100 percent whole grain.' If it doesn't say 100 percent, it's not." Unfortunately, many foods are only posing as rich in whole grains. Whole grains should be the first or second ingredient listed.

Dr. Oz urges you to eat one slice of 100 percent whole grain bread lightly dipped in non-chemically processed extra virgin olive oil before every dinner. He says this easy, yet powerful, combination will reduce the amount of food you'll eat at dinner and keep you fuller for longer amounts of time. "Dinner's our big meal where we make most of our mistakes," he says. These mistakes can lead to serious consequences, like heart attack or diabetes. Eating whole wheat bread and olive oil can reduce your risk for both, Dr. Oz says. "And you'll probably lose weight to boot."

At Great Harvest we are delighted that whole grains are getting the publicity they deserve. We are proud to offer the BEST whole grains anywhere. We offer 100% whole grain breads every day. Since our wheat is specially selected and ground fresh daily on a stone mill, it contains the most nutrients and best taste of any whole wheat.
