kneading table

During the month of January, bring in a loaf of store bought bread and we will exchange it for a free loaf of Honey Whole Wheat Bread. (One loaf per household) We will show you how our bread surpasses any others! We challenge you to find a loaf of bread that tastes better, is more nutritious, has 0g fat and 0g trans fats, no preservatives, is 100% whole grain, and made with all natural simple ingredients. Our honey whole wheat has only 5 ingredients- freshly milled whole grain flour, water, yeast, salt and honey. Each loaf of bread is made from scratch daily and hand kneaded & even hand designed! Our bread stays fresh 7-10 days right on your counter top. All of this and it is a great value too. Our Honey Whole Wheat is $4.25 per 2.2 lb loaf. Pound for pound, our bread is actually LESS expensive than most store bought breads. Unlike other breads, Great Harvest makes TRUE whole grain bread. Regardless of what they call their bread - whole wheat, multigrain, 12 grain, made with whole grain etc., it isn't even 51 percent whole grain unless the first ingredient says so. One thing you can always count on - at Great Harvest our whole-wheat breads are 100 percent whole grain goodness, not just 51 percent, or less. Not only do we use the entire grain, we mill it fresh right in our store!

flour in hand

Numerous studies in recent years reinforce recommendations from the USDA Dietary Guidelines to eat more whole grains - at least three servings a day. Eating whole grains, according to these studies and these guidelines, helps control weight. It also offers other health benefits, including a reduced risk of cancer, heart attacks and diabetes. And Great Harvest has the freshest and most nutritious whole grains anywhere! Other bread is made from flour that is weeks or months old, nutrients are lost, fats, oils and dough conditioners are added for moisture and preservatives must be used to extend shelf life. Through our milling and baking process at Great Harvest, those nutrients are naturally preserved and is why it tastes so delicious. And, because it is so fresh, it lasts 7-10 days right on your counter top. Great Harvest has been using whole grains and milling wheat daily since the first bakery opened 31 years ago.
Honey Whole Wheat w/ Wheat
1. Hole in the wall - slice a piece of bread, cut out a hole with a biscuit cutter (an empty can works too). Fry the egg in the hole. Viola', a complete, and fun breakfast!
2. As a snack. A plain slice or a slice spread with low-fat cream cheese. A dieter's dream - it fills you up and is extremely low in fat.
3. Mini pizzas - top your bread with pizza sauce, cheese and assorted pizza toppings. Broil until the cheese melts. A meal in itself, yum!
4. Any deli sandwich is fabulous on honey whole wheat. Try this: spread a slice of honey whole wheat with Italian dressing. Top with your favorite meat (we recommend garlic roast beef from your deli), thin tomato slices, red onion slices and a slice of your favorite cheese. Broil until the cheese melts.
Energy Bread - This 100% whole grain bread is loaded with fruits, grains and nuts. It will keep you going at work and play.

Minnesota Wild Rice Bread - This amazing whole grain bread is Minnesota delicious!
Sandwich Train
Your kid's favorite sandwich made with Honey Whole Wheat Bread (cut into rectangles if you're not using a toaster loaf) Round slices of banana or cucumber (4 per sandwich) Other washed and sliced fruit and/or vegetables Cream cheese or peanut butter.
The sandwiches are train cars. The banana or cucumber are wheels. Other fruit or vegetables are freight. Stack a half sandwich on the back of the "engine" sandwich to make the locomotive. Use cream cheese or peanut butter to glue banana or cucumber wheels to the sides of your train cars. Stack other fruit or vegetables on the other cars to create the freight. Put your train in the middle of your lunch table and let your kids pick their favorite train car.
