21 Wells in the North
The northern tip of the CAR, just across the border from the Darfur region in Sudan, is a difficult location in which to drill wells. Not only is the region unstable, but just getting drilling equipment there is a feat in itself due to the difficult roads and the scarcity of both bridges and fuel. ICDI's drill team 1 is currently working on a 21-well project in this area, and just finished their 8th well. Pray for the drill team, who have had contact with several of the rebel groups (even had coffee with some of the rebels). Despite the difficulties of traveling and being away from their families, our team is excited about bringing water to villages who have not ever had a good source of water.

The bridge above might as well not even be there - the ICDI team often finds it necessary to build their own crossings in places such as this.

Grimari - Proposed Base-Camp
Located to the north-east of Bangui (see map above), Grimari is the proposed site for a second base-camp for ICDI. The Central African government has already agreed to a lease for the 200+ acre property, but there are still a lot of details to work out. This location will not only provide a great location for well drilling and maintenance in the eastern part of the country, but will also include plenty of space for a large agricultural program.
During the month of March, two trips were made to the town. ICDI's board, who held their annual meetings in the Central African Republic this year, visited the potential site, as well as the main offices in Bangui, Berberati, and a few of the villages where ICDI is working. They were able to see first hand what the organization has accomplished, and what challenges it is facing.
John Repasky with Hanover Pavers, who funded and built the new drill rig, had its builders and designers come out to drill a well with Faithful & True. The rig performed very well after a three day trip to get from our base camp in Berberati to Grimari where the well was drilled for a hospital.

Night Time Frequency
An HCJB technical team will begin installation work on a transmitter and antenna that will add a night-time frequency for ICDI. This will allow Radio ICDI to add over 8 hours to our programming. Pictured below are the supplies for the installation, which have already arrived in country. Check out the radio link on our website (or at the top of this email) for more information on Radio ICDI.

10-Inch Lift-Kit
A team from Wooster, Ohio and from Hanover, PA both spent five days in Berberati providing technical training for the Central African team. They worked side-by-side with the Berberati team to add 10-inches of clearance to the trailer for the beetle (allowing it to travel on), as well as helped out with projects going on at the garage. It was a huge encouragement to the Berberati team to watch these seven men dig into the day-to-day needs of keeping our vehicles running.
