June 2010

Message from the Director

I invite you to make a special visit to our
 website (http://uscpublicdiplomacy.org) to
see two changes.  First is our new
design, which I hope you will find both
more functional and more attractive.  And
while you're there, please take a look at
our new video blog featuring reports from
the CPD team at the Shanghai Expo.

I have just returned from a conference at Wilton Park in the UK that brought together public diplomacy professionals from around the world.  The three days of discussions were heartening in that they reflected the seriousness with which public diplomacy is being treated by foreign ministries.  The Wilton Park sessions also underscored how much work remains to be done.  Many of the participants are still in the early stages of developing their public diplomacy agendas.  I made clear, I hope, that the USC Center on Public Diplomacy is eager to help them - and as always, we hope that our work will be of benefit to you.

Sincerely,
Philip Seib
Director, USC Center on Public Diplomacy
