>>Girls' club

Like it or not, the industry is still having problems attracting women to the trade. To try to counter this, one high school has introduced an all-girls auto body course.

Since they've introduced the course the participation rate of young women has quadrupled.

Greetings!

I spend a lot of time thinking about our presence on the Internet, and something occurred to me recently: I want to encourage you to take a look at the Collision Repair forum as a means of DIY PR.

It's public, it's associated with a recognized news source, and it's indexed by Google. All of which means it can be an extremely cost-effective way of sending your message out without needing a complicated website of your own.

What's an example? Maybe one of your techs just finished a cutting edge training course. You can write a 100-word message to let the world know and give him or her a little recognition. And the next time some one Googles your facility to decide if they can trust you or not, your personal website will come up first and right below it will be a nice message about how you're ahead of the curve in the training department.

Just a thought.

See you next week. Take care,
