>>Curbside scammers

Two New York men were recently arrested in relation to a collision repair scam. The men would approach young drivers or senior citizens in public and offer to fix a dent in their cars. The men would take out some tools, look busy for a few minutes, and then demand money.

Greetings!

I had a chance to spend some time with Harold Carlaw of Campbellford Auto Body last week. Harold, now retired, spends much of his time tending to Campbellford's Memorial Military Museum, which is right across the road from the collision repair facility at
226 Albert Street.

Talking to Harold and his son David reminded me why I like this industry. Harold's skills aren't specific to any industry or procedures; he knows the value of craftsmanship and has spent quite a lot of his energy dedicated to the practice. He's built full-scale planes,  historic vehicles and even the museum that houses his collection, all with the same care it takes to paint a car.

As many as 35 of Harold's family members followed him into the industry, and it's easy to see why; he's the embodiment of what's great about collision repair.

See you next week! Take care,

Correction: Last week I referred to "Extreme's Terry Bradimore" in the eZine's opening message, which should have been simply Terry Bradimore. Also, in light of last week's catch, Terry is wondering if a fish and chip lunch is in order.
