Greetings!

Bonjour!

I don't know if you've heard yet or not, but we're putting together a French-language version of Collision Repair. It will be hitting doorsteps soon and we hope it's the start of a more inclusive Canadian collision repair conversation.

I'm excited about the prospect of expanding our bilingual operations and we've brought in some very talented people to help us in our goals. We've also benefited greatly from the help of some of Quebec's best industry insiders (I'll try not to ruin the surprise).

Our current Quebec readers will receive the
issue automatically. To those readers, if there's anyone within your organization or in the industry you know who'd appreciate getting a copy, could you direct them to our subscribe page (collisionrepairmag.com/subscribe)? It's still free, and it will be 100 per cent French. If the address is in Quebec they'll automatically get a copy.

If you're outside of Quebec and you'd like a copy of the French magazine, please email me directly at editor@collisionrepairmag.com with your name and mailing address (you may get a follow-up from someone at the office to confirm some details).

See you next week. Take care,

-Joe Rayment

About the Town
Speaking at the conference20-20 in 2010 for CARSTAR

It's not unusual to bring the family to cottage country for some bonding time. But when CARSTAR does it, they go all out.

Last week, CARSTAR held their 13th Annual Industry Conference in beautiful Muskoka at the Deerhurst Resort.

Co-AutoPhotos from Co-Auto's first annual golf tournament

While many in the automotive industry may believe it is best for the techs to stay behind their spray guns and focus on what they know best, Co-Auto takes a different approach. They brought them out on to the links when they hosted their first annual Body Shop Golf Tournament on Friday, August 13, 2010.

One more week to donate to Treschak's food drive!

Treschak Enterprises in partnership with 3M, AkzoNobel, and Collision Repair magazine are extending their "From the Paint Kitchen to the Food Kitchen" for one more week!

If you can spare some non-perishable food items, please call 1-800-552-5856 to arrange a pick up.

All donations go to Open Arms Mission-it's a great cause. Please help them out if you can afford to give.

Rotary Lifts extends its Inspect to Protect program

Rotary Lift has an important message for technicians and shop owners: remember to inspect your lifts. As part of this message, Rotary Lift has extended its Inspect to Protect program to help facility owners find local qualified lift inspectors through the Rotary Authorized Installer (RAI) North American network.

Global automotive industry shows growth

The automotive industry is still recovering from the recession, slowly. Though it seems to be out of the woods, there is still a long way to go.

Training
Sherwin-Williams adding new e-learning modules

Sherwin-Williams Automotive Finishes has added new modules to its e-Learning site. Designed for collision facility owners, managers and painting professionals, its new Standard Operating Procedures online courses provide a convenient learning venue. The courses also prepare collision repair professionals for future, hands-on training at one of their regional training centres.

Training
New I-CAR courses target three main issues of the industry

This fall, industry leaders and collision repairers can look forward to three new training courses added to the I-CAR Canadian training roster. The courses appear to aim to address three of the more prevalent issues of our industry, namely OEM training, recycled and aftermarket parts, and quality control for better efficiency.
