'You hit a what?' SUV side-swipes elephant
An Oklahoma couple driving home from church nearly slammed into a giant pachyderm that had escaped from a nearby circus. Driver Bill Carpenter joked about being involved in such a bizarre accident on what is usually a peaceful church night. "I don't know what was in the wine, but it must have been pretty strong."









Switch Out is having a contest! Registered participant that send in at least two collection pails in 2009 will be automatically entered.The winning business will be featured in an article in the 2010 edition of Canadian Auto Recyclers magazine.

Lady Luck made an appearance in Las Vegas last week as NACE attendees and exhibitors had one of the best shows ever. A bevy of new products and services were launched that you'll be able to read about below and in future issues of Collision Repair Magazine.

BASF Study Finds Out What Insurers Really Think About Collision Repair Industry
BASF Automotive Refinish Solutions has released Finding Common Ground: A Claims Perspective . The study -- sponsored by BASF and conducted by Square One Systems, Inc. and Condon Consulting, LLC -- encompassed over 22 hours of interviews with claims executives and staff from nine major insurers representing about half of the total dollars spent on repairable vehicles per year. 
Regency Auto Collision Joins CSN
Regency Auto Collision ~ CSN in Kitchener, Ontario is the newest addition to the CSN team.  In business since 1989, Regency Auto Collision ~ CSN was recently purchased by Rob Pavan, owner of Golden Triangle Collision Guelph and Cambridge, Ontario.
 
This 7500 square foot location was originally founded by Ken Griese.  "I am looking forward to Rob Pavan taking over the business and introducing a modern approach to collision repair to move the business forward.  When the opportunity to sell to Rob came about, I welcomed it knowing he operates his businesses honourably and professionally", says Ken.

AkzoNobel has opened nominations for the FIT Sustainability award.
