Industry Struts Its Stuff at Music Mixer

Industry stakeholders had a chance to display their musical chops at a special mixer and jam session held Friday, October 16 at the Delta Bessborough in Saskatoon.

About 60 members of the collision repair industry and associated businesses were on-hand for the jam session, which featured collision repair industry musicians such as Rene Young from ARA, Lou Fontaine from Pro Body Parts, Rich Altieri from PPG, Tony Canade of Assured Automotive, and the chairman of CCIF; Lawrence Verthelet, collision repair industry consultant; and Cody Pauls from Parr Auto Body.

Mitchell to Unveil First "Shop Workspace"

Mitchell International plans to unveil what the company calls the industry's first "Shop Workspace" at this year's NACE. The new Mitchell RepairCenter is designed to bring shops of any size the flexibility to manage the repair, the customer, and the business, all from a single cohesive Workspace, by enabling users to select from a comprehensive set of functionality and modules.

AIA Offers to Sign Agreement with Car Companies

AIA Canada has announced that it plans to sign on to the Canadian Automotive Service Information Standard (CASIS). CASIS is a voluntary national agreement with Canada's automotive OEMs in cooperation with the National Automotive Trade Association (NATA). AIA senior staff and board members have met with representatives from the OEM and senior government officials to try and resolve some at the organization have seen to be material concerns with the agreement.
