Is This For Real?
High Speed Bribes?: A man was arrested in Florida's St. Lucie county after leading police on a 120 MPH chase. To deter pursuit, he tried throwing money, a cell phone, clothes and other items out of his car window!
Traffic Hugs?: An intoxicated man was arrested in Ann Arbor, Michigan, for blocking traffic. Specifically, he approached a police officer and requested a big hug. The man then cursed the officer when he declined.

Did you Know...?

Two Major Inventions: Marion Donovan, inventor of plastic baby pants to cover cloth diapers, was also the inventor of the car cup holder. She installed a boat ring in her car to hold cups.

Greetings!
Communication is always great. Think about it. Even getting bad news is good when it's information you need to hear. Positive news is even better. I thought I'd share with you a letter I received recently about one of our articles. Feel free to send your own emails heading my way. Mike Davey,Editor Dear Editor,
I am responding to your March 23, 2009 story (SAAR secures higher door rates for Saskatchewan
Repairers).
Your story fails to mention two significant points. The
first is that SGI entered into discussions with a committee composed of both
Saskatchewan Association of Automotive Repairers (SAAR) and the Saskatchewan
Auto Dealers Association (SADA) members. The chair of the committee was a SADA
representative. SAAR, SADA and SGI executed the agreement with respect to new
labour rates. All parties to the
discussion played important roles in reaching an agreement.
The second point is that the agreement is for a blended
rate. The $67.00 repair rate now applies to all auto repair functions, which
historically had differing rates. The auto repair industry proposed the blended
rate. To SGI's knowledge this is the first blended rate agreement in Canada and
is another example of SGI's willingness to work with the auto repair industry.
Yours truly,
Paul R. McIntyre
Assistant Vice President, Claims
Co-chair SGI Labour Rate Team |
