Welcome to the last official Collision Repair e-zine of 2008. It will be New Year's Eve in just a few days. If you're anything like me, you use this time to reflect on what has gone before and what's coming up next. What do you think 2009 will bring collision repairers? Mike Davey,Editor

major changes occurring in many countries. In Australia, the Motor
Trades Association has appointed a consultant to help ensure the
association represents all retail motor traders, while the United
Kingdom has recently seen a number of partnerships announced between
UDP UK and major paint companies. In Italy, the focus is still on the

Australia MTAA Appoints Federation Consultant
MTAA
remains committed to a Federation that represents the interests of all
Australian retail motor traders and welcomes the participation of all
state and territory associations.
MTAA and its Members recognise
that in order to achieve true national representation, motor traders
from all states and territories should be given the opportunity to
contribute to the policy work of MTAA.
In order to facilitate such
participation in Victoria, MTAA has recently appointed David Nolan as
the MTAA Federation Consultant for Victoria. A former Deputy Executive
Director of the Victorian Automobile Chamber of Commerce, Nolan is
highly regarded across the retail motor trades and has extensive
connections within Victoria.
Nolan joins Tony Selmes, who is the
MTAA Federation Consultant for Queensland. Selmes is a former Executive
Director of the Motor Trades Association of Queensland and has
successfully undertaken this role since mid 2008.
