It looks like the Harper government is kicking some cash to the Canadian arms of the Detroit automakers. The price tag is currently set at about $4 billion. "We cannot afford, in the United States or Canada, the catastrophic short-term collapse of the Big Three automakers. The U.S. has signalled that they are not going to allow these companies to fail, and we will do our share of the North American package to see that this doesn't happen either," said Harper at a news conference in Toronto. Norm Angrove to Head PPG's Value Added Programs
Norm Angrove has been appointed, effective January 1, 2009, to the position of senior manager of value added programs for PPG's automotive refinish business in the U.S. and Canada. In this new role he will be responsible for marketing the CertifiedFirst and MVP programs in North America; leading the strategic direction of CertifiedFirst in North America; and heading the Platinum jobber program and marketing communications in Canada.

Norm Angrove (right) will assume the role of senior manager of PPG's value added programs starting in 2009. Angrove joined PPG Canada in 2005 as national strategic development manager, and in a very short time has held several positions of increasing responsibility, most recently as regional manager, Central Canada.
