2011... The Year in Review
As 2011 draws to a close, we reflect on some events that shaped the year (and us!)
As part of the Intuit Solution Provider Advisory Council, in March we attended meetings in Silicon Valley (Intuit Headquarters); we met with top level executives and had first-hand interaction with QuickBooks product managers, giving our clients an unequaled opportunity to voice ideas for product enhancements and new features. On a personal level, visits to the Tech Museum in San Jose and the Computer History Museum in Mountain View made that visit extra special.
Earlier this year, when I received an email asking for help in Africa from an official government source, I jumped at the chance (wouldn't anyone, especially when it comes via email from Nigeria?!) After careful project due diligence, in May, I found myself in Abuja, Nigeria, to help re-design an accounting and procurement system for a U.S. health research facility. I was fortunate to visit this progressive nation and appreciate its rich resources, both natural and people.
Later on in May, at the Scaling New Heights Conference in Las Vegas, I facilitated several breakout sessions and participated in expert panels. Included was a session with the first public unveiling of Clearify's new data extraction technology-QQube. It was the first live, in-person, national-stage presentation of this revolutionary, game-changing technology tool.
Closer to home, weeks before Labor Day, Mendelson Consulting moved its headquarters to a space three times the size of our previous office. The larger premises include an expansive conference area to serve the dual purpose of board room and lecture hall, for offering in-house classroom-style training. We look forward to this exciting offering in 2012!
In November, at the Sleeter Group's Accounting Solutions Conference in Las Vegas, I led several teaching sessions. Among them were advanced inventory management topics and another raving reception of QQube, showcasing us again as leaders using this custom-reporting technology.
The week after Thanksgiving, for the second consecutive year, I had the opportunity to lead the International QuickBooks Conference in Curaçao, Netherlands Antilles. The conference was followed by the first two-day International QuickBooks Training, which I enjoyed the opportunity to teach. This third visit to the beautiful island country gave me again the opportunity to experience the local culture -- the people, the food, the life. My appreciation and admiration for the people of Curaçao will never wane, with their affinity for laughter and the lighter side of life and their impressive linguistic skills -- everyone is fluent in four languages!
As we wrap up the year, we are pleased to share that 2011 was our firm's number one year in revenues! We continue to strive and achieve unequaled success in our industry, growing at a steady and healthy pace. For this, we say THANK YOU to you, our partners, for making this a possibility.
From all of us at Mendelson Consulting, we wish everyone and look forward to a healthy and happy 2012!
