A Retail Solution - QB POS
At some point in any retail business, the owner(s) must consider how to improve efficiency through automation. Many times, this can happen prior to the store opening. Other times, it comes as the store is experiencing growth.
Regardless of when that time comes, every small to medium size retail business should consider QuickBooks Point of Sale. It is a robust program that offers state of the art technology.
If you are a retail location considering a cash register system, here are a few reasons to look at QB POS:
Inexpensive: Compared to many systems out there, QB POS is a bargain.
Robust: QB POS, in many ways, allows any size store to function as a national chain using its robust feature set.
Integration: QB POS seamlessly integrates into your QuickBooks financial software as well as Intuit's Merchant Service.

5 steps to making and keeping customers
Marketing communication are messages and related media used to communicate with a certain market about your product or service offering. Whether you use Internet advertising, direct mail, newspapers or radio, consider these steps.
Step 1: As you think about advertising that will make a prospective customer aware of your business, remember the AIDA principle for your ad: Attract Attention, Interest, Desire, Action.
Step 2: The advertising piece should also create an expectation. Now that you have made others aware of your product, you must tell how they will benefit from buying it. Remember, they will ask, "How will I benefit from this?" Your ad must provide a good answer to that question before customers will move on to the next step.
Step 3: Encourage a trial purchase. A sales promotion that is included in the advertising gives customers an incentive to buy right now.
Step 4: Help the customer form a positive belief and attitude about your company. When they buy from you for the first time, you have this one opportunity to impress. Be it in person or by telephone, the initial contact people have with your business will determine whether the they will come back to buy from you again.
Step 5: Reinforce a customer's positive belief and attitude.
Be sure to keep the promises made in your advertising.
Your marketing strategy should target a specific type of customer and satisfy a particular customer objective.
The Greatest Thing Since Sliced Bread
What if there was a program that let you have all your important computer files wherever you go? A program that lets you easily share and edit files with anyone that needs them, or even just share files between your home computer, laptop, and smart phone. Well we here at Mendelson Consulting have been using a very useful and FREE program that forever will solve the problem of forgotten USB drives and also make sharing and editing files between you and others a breeze. It is called Dropbox.
So what exactly is Dropbox? It is basically a file synchronization / backup service. The most basic use of Dropbox would have you install the Dropbox client on 2 computers and the contents of your Dropbox folder would synchronize automatically between them. No need to remember to email yourself the latest copy, no forgetting your thumb drive. The latest version of your file would be on any computer attached to your account, automatically.
Where Dropbox really shines is the way it allows you to share files with others. Individual folders can be shared with other people and every member of a shared folder would be able to add, edit, and delete the contents but will not be able to access anything outside of that specific folder. This file sharing system is perfect for team projects or for anything that needs collaboration among its members. There is also a public folder that allows you to share files with non-Dropbox users by the use of just a hyperlink.
Use the link below to set up your free Dropbox account and start sharing files on your own across different computers or with anyone else right from the start: http://db.tt/zdJQez3

With a few birthdays coming just celebrated here in the Mendelson Consulting family, we got to thinking, where did the idea of birthday celebrations start?
Earliest history of birthdays can be traced back to way before the rise of Christianity in the pagan days. Back in ancient Egypt and Mesopotamia, was when people started remembering and honoring their birthdays. It was believed that evil spirits visited people on their birthday, so people used to surround the birthday boy and laugh and have fun and make noise to scare away the evil spirits. The keeping of birthday records was important in ancient times principally because a birth date was essential for the casting of a horoscope, which was very important back in pagan days. So on your next birthday, make sure to scare the spirits away and have fun... Happy Birthday!
