Mike Dingman's 'POSSESSED'
The 2010
Grand National Roadster Show Winner
is at Sacramento Vintage Ford!
 Mike and Dianne Dingman's '33 Ford, 'POSSESSED' is now on display in the Sacramento Vintage Ford showroom through August of this year. POSSESSED just came back from the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Michigan. 'POSSESSED' was honored with the America's Most Beautiful Roadster title at the 61st Annual Grand National Roadster Show that was held in Pomona, California.  'POSSESSED' also took home the Goldmark top prize at the 2010 Boise Roadster Show. 1933 Ford RoadsterAll hand built steel body and chassis.Refresh, assembly, paint and body by Alan Palmer at Palmer Custom Paint, Camarillo, California. Ford Racing 392 engine with TWM Induction, Comp Cams Belt Drive, Custom Rewarder Headers, Custom Clay Cook Valve Covers built by Mike Dingman Ford AOD Transmission - Engine and transmission smoothed and finished by Palmers  One-off custom machined billet aluminum suspension. Cantilevered front and rear. One-off custom machined brake package from Wilwood including hats, rotors and calipers  One-off custom machined third member Hand built windshield frame Custom hand carved moldings and trim - Lil Louie - Red Lizard Moulding Interior - Ron Mangus One-Off Wheels - Boyd Jr. - Genuine Boyds One-Off Gauges - Design Mike Dingman (to match the chronograph watches) built by Classic Instruments One-off Hardware - ARP ( Notice no nuts on car.)  Rich Pichette Passes Away Rich Pichette, a close friend of The Kustom Culture Community, passed away at 2:45 AM Wednesday morning.
Stricken
down with this terrible disease, Alzheimers, in the prime of his life.
This man was a huge driving force behind the resurgence of awareness and
appreciation for kustoms on the West Coast for the past 30 years. He is
the man responsible for conceiving of a show to celebrate kustoms and
their builders, West Coast Kustoms' Cruisin' Nationals, formerly known
as "Paso."We in this community miss him and are continuing his
legacy by coming together to produce a "One-Off" '54 Merc Roadster
kustom, appropriately named "MEMORIES," in his honor, which was one of
his own projects. The build is being completed with all labor and parts
being donated by West Coast Kustoms Hall of Famers and America's

Larry Watson Passes
Larry Watson, The King of Kandy RIP (1939-2010) By Tim Bernsau
Another
one of the legendary leaders of our hobby has passed away. Larry
Watson, the kid who changed the way we paint customs (and hot rods),
died of cancer on Tuesday morning, July 20. His
influence and his talent never faded. When Ed Roth's Orbitron was
discovered and restored in 2008, Watson-who had painted several of
Roth's customs, including that one, in earlier years-was consulted
regarding the correct paint, based on his personal recollections of the
original formula.
Two years ago,
Watson paired up with the equally legendary Gene Winfield to host the
first Winfield and Watson Custom Car and Hot Rod Gathering. That
successful event was repeated in 2009, and the third annual Gathering
has been scheduled for October.
Larry Watson left many impressive accomplishments and undoubtedly had more to do. His loss, like his legacy, is great.

The 24th Goodguys West Coast Nationals Muscle Cars will dot the landscape for the first time in the 24 year
history of the West Coast Nationals presented by Flowmaster Mufflers as
rods, customs, classics and muscle cars from over 15 states converge on
Pleasanton August 27, 28 & 29. Muscle cars and street machines are a
large part of all Goodguys events and with the welcome mat being
extended to them for the first time at the West Coast Nationals, the
event will take on a new and exciting look.
In addition to
celebrating the arrival of Muscle Cars, The Goodguys staff will be
looking for a finalist for the 2010 Muscle Car of the Year award as well
as other awards such as "Mighty Muscle," "Cool Camaro", "Ford Muscle,"
"Mopar Muscle," "Chevy Muscle," "Mighty Mustang," and "Slick 60s."
"We
know the event will be better than ever with more variety, more cars to
see and new vendors to visit, thus enhancing the appeal of the show for
all participants and spectators," said Goodguys President Marc Meadors.
"We have the room for another 500 cars. All Muscle Car and Street
Machine guys have an open invitation to join us in Pleasanton August
27-29."
The 24th West Coast Nationals presented by Flowmaster Mufflers
officially gets underway Thursday night August 26th with the kickoff
party at the Pleasanton Marriott but there will be plenty of activity
starting as early as Monday, August 23rd with Hot Rod Week!
