ROAD TRIP!
Gary and Darold Hit The Highway!

The 45th Annual L.A. Roadster Show
is this weekend!

Images are loading......please allow a few extra seconds...Thank You!

OK.....That's not Darold with Gary in the photo above, that's Mrs. Meadors.......be on the lookout for 2 old guys, Gary and Darold, blazing down the Coast Highway at speeds up to 35-37 MPH on the way to the L.A. Roadster Show in Pomona!
(Yes, Darold gets to ride shotgun!)
Sorry Marilyn, I owe you a bag of M & M's!

Gary (the much older Gentleman), is the Founder and Chairman of the Goodguys Rod and Custom Association, Darold is the President/CEO of
Sacramento Vintage Ford.

Rumor has it that some of the Brizio gang and others will be on the road trip as well!  Should be a fun trip!

Gary's ride is a Foose Designed, Steve Moal built Roadster,
the same design as Steve Moal built for
actor Tim Allen.

This marks the 45th time the Los Angeles Roadster Club has produced its world renowned show and the 30th year it has been held at Fairplex in Pomona.
New this year, in addition to the biggest all-roadster show, there will be a special 1933-34 Ford display in recognition of the 75th anniversary of the Model 40 Ford. The L. A. Roadsters have teamed with Steve's Auto Restorations of Portland, Oregon, to create a display of 1933-1934 Ford vehicles featuring the finest Model 40s of all body styles. Model 40 sponsor, Steve Frisbee will award a highly collectible gift to those vehicles featured in the display.

In addition, Thom Taylor will appear with his beautiful 1933-34 Ford art on display. Don't miss the first annual Pinstripers' Gathering for Charity. Some of the industry's best pinstripers are available in the commercial vendor area to pinstripe your automotive art, pictures, articles, hats, whatever. All proceeds go to charity allowing you to be creative and generous at the same time.

On Sunday, June 21 the Traditional Rod and Suede Show takes place in the specialty parking area. These are many of the same cars that attend the Annual Primer Nationals in Ventura, California.
The first 400 cars participating in the show will receive a special memorial dash plaque.

Admission:  Adults $15     Children under 12 Free
Parking Gate 17 (Fairplex Drive) at prevailing rates

Pick-N-Pull

Simply put, Pick-n-Pull has combined the power of a Hollander Interchange, with the inventory of the Pick-n-Pull yards.

Hollander has capitalized on this and has developed an interchange program that allows for someone to search across different models of vehicles for the parts that will fit on their car also.

The Pick-n-Pull Tracker
system will now use the data developed in the interchange request and search a stores entire inventory to see if there are any matches! Each stores inventory is replenished every day with fresh cars, and that information is loaded each day into the Tracker application.

Customers can either go into the store of their choice to look-up cars, or they can call 1-800-442-5865 and one of our Customer Service Associates will be happy to help them find the parts they need!

Stop by one of the Pick-n-Pull locations with your tools, pay a small admission fee, find a vehicle with the parts you need and pull the parts yourself! All of the vehicles are set on customized supports to raise them off the ground so you can easily and safely pull your parts. The average Pick-n-Pull store has 14 acres and over 1,200 cars and trucks to choose from so chances are they have the parts you need! Pick-n-Pull is proud of the fact that they recycle more than 250,000 vehicles and service more than
4 million self-service customers each year.

Freshest Inventory, Great Prices!

Pick-n-Pull is an industry-leading chain of self-service auto parts stores providing recycled original equipment manufacturer (OEM) parts at incredible prices. For over 20 years, they have been offering quality parts for all makes and models of foreign and domestic cars, vans and light trucks. Their selection of parts is tough to beat with new arrivals daily and stores are open 7 days a week!

Posies Driven Dirty Tour
On a cold and misty Ohio morning in November, a group of ol' time hot rodders hit the road headed for Las Vegas. More than 2000 miles later, they arrived road worn and a little weary, but all with a deep appreciation for the spirit of the road and the new found friendships made along the way.

Here's some pictures from their journey featuring the now infamous '32 Dynaliner, designed and driven by Dynamat's own Scott Whitaker aka Les Noyse. Enjoy!

Public Enemies Starring Johnny Depp

.....In Theaters July 1, 2009

In the action-thriller "Public Enemies," acclaimed filmmaker Michael Mann directs Johnny Depp, Christian Bale and Academy AwardŽ winner Marion Cotillard in the story of legendary Depression-era outlaw John Dillinger (Depp)-the charismatic bank robber whose lightning raids made him the number one target of J. Edgar Hoover's fledgling FBI and its top agent, Melvin Purvis (Bale), and a folk hero to much of the downtrodden public.

No one could stop Dillinger and his gang. No jail could hold him. His charm and audacious jailbreaks endeared him to almost everyone-from his girlfriend Billie Frechette (Cotillard) to an American public who had no sympathy for the banks that had plunged the country into the Depression.

But while the adventures of Dillinger's gang-later including the sociopathic Baby Face Nelson (Stephen Graham) and Alvin Karpis (Giovanni Ribisi)-thrilled many, Hoover (Billy Crudup) hit on the idea of exploiting the outlaw's capture as a way to elevate his Bureau of Investigation into the national police force that became the FBI. He made Dillinger America's first Public Enemy Number One and sent in Purvis, the dashing "Clark Gable of the FBI."

However, Dillinger and his gang outwitted and outgunned Purvis' men in wild chases and shootouts. Only after importing a crew of Western ex-lawmen (newly baptized as agents) and orchestrating epic betrayals-from the infamous "Lady in Red" to the Chicago crime boss Frank Nitti-were Purvis, the FBI and their new crew of gunfighters able to close in on Dillinger.

4. Heart disease
5. Stroke

There have been countless studies done to prove it, but virtually everyone knows that spending quality time with a kid is the greatest gift you can give them. And sharing your appreciation for collector cars is a great way to nurture their interest in a hobby that you can enjoy together for many years to come.

We are all constantly reminded of a kids need to express themselves. What better way to help them do that, than to nurture their appreciation for an interesting and different collector vehicle?

Kids can even start small, with posters, toys, and model kits. Soon you may discover them pouring over your old collection of car magazines. Then they are on their way, dreaming of their own future collector cars. <p>

Hopefully one day you will find yourself with an eager companion in your garage, soaking up your knowledge and years of experience in this exciting hobby. You may even find your own enthusiasm invigorated, as you watch the development of young, wide-eyed interest in the hobby you have enjoyed for years. Talk about an opportunity to &bond& with a kid, this may be your best chance! For while a youngsters music choices and video games may be alien to you, their interest in a Mustang, Cuda, Corvette, or Model A Ford can be right up your alley. And every time a youngster helps to apply a coat of wax, change a set of brake shoes, install a new tail lamp lens, or perform a simple tune-up, they will begin to experience a growing sense of pride and accomplishment.

Teaching a youngster to appreciate something as special as a collector car is a terrific way to communicate strong values of respect for all things, to help them understand the value of our history and our culture. And they will quickly learn positive ways to express themselves, perhaps even with a special car or truck that matches their own personal style.

Who knows how far it might go? Your young companion may grow up to be a talented restorer, or racecar driver, or even an executive in the performance automotive
aftermarket industry.

(Did you know that SEMA offers scholarships to deserving young people who have indicated an interest in a future career in the automotive field?)
