Dear ,

The time for silent suffering, frustration at the lack of understanding, and anger at the shortage of knowledgeable treatment providers to end.  Only by talking about hair pulling and skin picking can we bring this disorder out of the shadows and help millions to realize that they are alone. Here are a few simple ways you can make your voice heard:

1. Change your email signature
Educate everyone that receives an email from you: change your email signature to let people know that silent suffering is unnecessary! Read this PDF for instructions on how to change your email signature to help support TLC's mission.

2. Post this Public Service Announcement (PSA) to your Facebook, website, or share the link with your email address book.
If you're a fan of TLC on Facebook, you can share this video with your Facebook friends by following the instructions on TLC's fan page. Or, click the link above to get the URL and embed code.

And for Facebook users:

3. Become a fan of TLC on Facebook
Just click the link above, and show your support for TLC.

4. Change your Facebook status
During Trich Awareness Week, change your Facebook status to read:

Don't suffer alone. Find hope and healing for hair pulling and skin picking at www.trich.org
National Trichotillomania Awareness Week | October 1-7, 2010

5. Change your Facebook profile picture

Set this image as your default profile pic during Trich Awareness Week, so you can help spread the word about trich and skin picking. Chances are, some of your Facebook friends have, or know someone who has, one of these behaviors. Let them know they are not alone!

If you want change, you have to ask for it: Act now!
