For the 18th consecutive year, TLC will bring together many of the nation's leading researchers, clinicians, and facilitators to present on a wide range of topics dealing with Trichotillomania (TTM), Skin Picking, and Related Body Focused Repetitive Behaviors (BFRBs). The 2011 Conference is particularly important as increased media coverage, awareness and shame reduction have led both patients and treatment providers to demand understanding and viable treatment options. Ground-breaking work toward understanding the impact of these disorders is well underway, including genetics research and treatment development. Plus, TLC will be celebrating its 20th Anniversary, and we've planned some special activities to help us celebrate: Don't miss out!

We are particularly interested in presentations on:
  • phenomenology and etiology
  • maintenance, classification and treatment
  • skin picking: specifically dermatology, healing skin, self-help, and finding support
  • esteem-building and motivational techniques
  • the recovery process and coping mechanisms (for children and adults)
  • enhancing life quality
  • family relationships; coping & communication skills for parents and their children
We are particularly interested in presentations for:
  • children under 12
  • teens
  • adults
  • parents
  • professionals (continuing education credits will be available)

Deadline for proposal submissions is
November 18, 2010

If two or more of your proposals are selected, TLC will reimburse 50% of your transportation and lodging expenses.

Nearly 400 sufferers and their families will attend, as well as professionals from all disciplines, all seeking to expand their expertise in working with these problems.

Take advantage of this opportunity to participate in TLC's unique community of patients and professionals. You won't be disappointed!
