What I Am Reading

Yes, I am reading this series but I can't watch it on TV. It's way too intense. I was going to stop after the first book, Game of Thrones, but I was invested in the characters. I will probably be old and decrepit by the time I finish all of them.

Here are some 5x7 paintings at a drastically low price.
Help lower the pile!

If you have any questions or comments
or I can help you with your art in anyway
feel free to email me.
I would love to hear from you!

Greetings!

I hope this newsletter finds you doing well and hopefully finding some time to create something that brings you joy. It certainly is hard sometimes to find the time and sometimes even when I have the time the creative energy is low.

And as I just wrote that last sentence it reminded me of a wonderful blog site I follow called Sustainably Creative by
Michael Nobbs.  Michael has a health issue that renders him with very low energy and his "One Thing Today" little podcasts are always very inspiring to me. And there is just something soothing about his Wales accent and him sipping his beloved tea. Makes me want to drink tea but I have just never developed a penchant for it sorry to say.

I have been working very hard to learn this new format for the newsletter. So sit back, click around and learn some things about me that you didn't know
to ask (or even cared to!)
 Hope you enjoy it.
OK!  Now for some updates!
MY NEW EASEL
I don't know James Coulter but he sure makes
a great easel.  For all of you who might be daily painters out there, Carol Marine, Leslie Saeta and Dreama Tolle Perry use one.
Well, that's good enough for me!
So come on into my studio,
The Red Door and watch the demo.
I am planning to video a new and updated
tour of my studio for the next newsletter. It
has changed somewhat wince I filmed the last tour.
********* NEW Oil PAINTINGS *********
Here are several small new palette knife paintings.
They are heading to my husband's office.

"The Hilltop House"

"Carribbean Boat"

The painting below is one I painted from a new
instructional video by my painting teacher here in Jacksonville, Diane Fraser.
She is a fabulous painter.
She wanted her Friday class to tryout the "Three Pears" video and see what we thought. I enjoyed painting it although hers looked a heck of a lot better than mine.
Well, of course, she's the master.

This is just a small 6x8. I am planning on painting it bigger tomorrow in class
from the still life.

About those color charts...
Maybe you will recall in a couple of newsletters back that
I mentioned that I was going to be really really
ambitious and do color charts of the 11 or so
colors on my oil painting palette.
I have been very confused because it is a huge
commitment to make all those charts and not know
if those colors will be the permanent ones.
I think I have figured it out and I have started the charts.
My colors are:
Cad Lemon, Cad Yellow, Cad yellow Deep, Yellow
Ochre, Cad Orange, Cad Red, Aliz Crimson,
Ultramarine Blue, Cobalt Blue, Viridian, Olive Green.
So that's my story and I'm sticking to it!
Until I change it that is.

Here's a little random useless
knowledge you don't
 know about me...
I ride this!

And if you want to feel like you are 12
years old again...ride a scooter!
Just don't fall off. That's no fun.
It's very smooth too.
I am just glad I don't hear all the gawking people
saying, "Hey look at that old lady
riding that scooter!"
ONE LAST THING
I am searching for a new video camera since the one
I have been using is ancient.  By ancient I mean it's going on 5 years old. Isn't is terrible when
all our toys are ancient before we can
 even finish reading the directions
 on how to use it?
 Hate that!
I am thinking about this one.

Hopefully it will be a good one and I can figure it out.
I really hate reading user guides.
They give me a big pain in the head.

This will surely motivate me to start on my
new online class. Better not reveal
what it is yet because, who knows,
life might interfere and it's will
never get done.

So with that final note:

Yep, that's true isn't it?
Happy creating and thanks
again for subscribing!
