Seniors look toward college, scholarships
Even though the school year has just begun, it is not too early for the class of 2013 to be eyeing college opportunities. In the next few weeks, our students have an opportunity to participate in two college information sessions.
On Sunday, Sept. 16, the National Association of College Admission Counseling is sponsoring a college information fair at the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex.
Students should register on line for this event so that college representatives can access their information. To register, click here.
Then, on Wednesday, Sept. 19, our parents and students will be able to attend The Birmingham College Scholarship and Career Fair at Boutwell Auditorium. At this event, our students will be able to gather information from more than 40 colleges and universities across the southeast and career opportunities in the craft and trade industries. In addition, students will be able to receive on-the-spot waiver of application fees, and some will be awarded scholarships on the spot as well. We are pleased that our students are able to be provided these opportunities as we prepared them for college and careers! Sincerely,
Craig Witherspoon Superintendent Birmingham City Schools |
