Dear Friends,
July was an exciting month at Breakaway Bicycles. Our first Winter Park Wander was a great success in spite of the threatening weather. Over thirty riders and friends enjoyed the social atmosphere as long time Winter Park resident, Tom Smith, led us through our beautiful and historic town. After stopping at several historic sites, we ended up at Shipyard Emporium for great good, refreshments and lots of fun! Thank you to everyone who could participate, and for those who couldn't, hope to see you next time!
August promises to be another fun, event filled month. In addition to our monthly Winter Park Wander and Family Night, we are adding Date Night, a wonderfully relaxing way to spend time with your special someone or maybe just friends. Most of all, don't miss our Back to School sale when you can purchase top quality products at discounted prices! So stop by, relax in the air conditioning and hang out at Winter Park's Community Bicycle Shop! See you soon!

Share the Road
Keeping our loved ones safe!
 As the school year begins, we experience an increase in pedestrian, bicycle, and vehicular traffic. On the road, the same laws that apply to motorists also apply to cyclists. Keep your loved ones safe, and remember to share the road respectively by following these helpful safety tips!
Cyclists
- Always wear a properly fitting helmet
- Ride on the right side of the road
- Ride predictably and be aware of your space
- Be visible
- Don't play around in the roadway
Pedestrians
- Look left, right, and left again before crossing the street.
- Understand and obey traffic signals and signs
- Walk facing traffic on sidewalks or paths so you can see oncoming cars
Motorists
- Drive cautiously
- Yield to cyclists (Bicycles are considered vehicles!)
- Be considerate
- Pass with care (the 3 feet law is MINIMUM clearance)
- Watch for children!!!
- RESPECT SCHOOL ZONE SPEED LIMITS

Events
Date Night! Whether it be a girl's night out or a romantic evening with your honey, join Breakaway Bicycles as we cruise our way over to Leu Gardens. Stroll through these beautiful gardens and then enjoy an outdoor movie in a beautiful garden setting. Patrons may bring a blanket or chairs and dinner picnic basket. Garden Admission is $5.00 plus tax adult and $2.00 plus tax child. Admission is collected at the door. Meet at Breakaway Bicycles at 6:00 pm, Twilight, the movie, is at 8:30 PM. Winter Park Wander Join Breakaway Bicycles and friends for a free bicycle cruise through the historic streets and neighborhoods of beautiful Winter Park. You will enjoy awesome company as well as learn fun facts about this charming place we call home. The ride will finish at one of Winter Park's local, delicious restaurants for food and refreshments. Don't have a bicycle to ride? No worries! Breakaway Bicycles has rental bikes available for you. Ride leaves at 5:30 PM Sunday, August 21. See you there! Family Night! Gather up the family and hop on your bikes for Breakaway Bicycles' Family Night! We will start the ride with a quick lesson in bicycle safety then head out to cruise the beautiful streets of Winter Park. Stop with us at a local park for an impromptu game of soccer or baseball or maybe just to swing on the swings! Finish up this enjoyable evening with an ice cream cone in Central Park.
