Dear Friend,

John DiMarco, CEO
|
As we prepare to celebrate Thanksgiving, I would like to thank you for your continued support of West Bay Residential. Our 30th Anniversary celebration was a clear reflection of support from a community that recognizes and appreciates our work with developmentally disabled individuals across Rhode Island. With the Holiday season upon us we understand that everyone's time and attention becomes a little more limited. However, great things continue to happen at West Bay and we hope that you will take a minute to read about them, and learn about the new ways that you can help us at this critical time.
Thank you in advance, and best wishes for a happy and safe Thanksgiving!

On Nov. 3, West Bay held an Open House to celebrate our 30 years of service to disabled individuals throughout Rhode Island. The event was a huge success with over 200 people attending. Guests had the opportunity to meet some of the amazing individuals that we provide service for and had the chance to tour our newly improved day program facility in Warwick.
Many local leaders were in attendance, including Lt. Governor Elizabeth Roberts, Attorney General Peter Kilmartin, General Treasurer Gina Raimondo, Secretary of State Ralph Mollis, State Sen. Joshua Miller, State Sen. William Walaska, State Rep. David Bennett, State Rep. Frank Ferri and Director of BHDDH, Craig Stenning. In her remarks to attendees, General Treasurer Raimondo expressed her apprecaition for our work, and emphasized the need to see pension reform passed so that organizations like West Bay can continue to receive vital funding from the state budget.
Following the celebration, West Bay's Assistant Director, Kathy Millard said, "The event and overwhelming turnout was a shining example of the impact our services have made on the everyday lives of those we serve."

 | Holiday Craft Bazaar - A New Tradition
| As the holidays arrive there's no better place to do your shopping than the West Bay Holiday Craft Bazaar!
Our Day Activities Program is hosting its 1st Holiday Craft Bazaar on Dec. 1, from 10 am - 3 pm at 158 Knight Street, Warwick. Two other agencies, Gateways to Change and Project Friends will join the bazaar.
The bazaar will feature many quality handmade items at reasonable prices, most of which are produced by the people we support through our residential and day service programs. The folks at the Tartaglia home make wonderful themed gift baskets, while Paul and his staff at Central make Paul's Scrumptious Cookies. Janine and Gloria at the Oakland house have been working on colorful holiday ornaments, and the day activity program at the main office is busy preparing beautiful jewelry for Jewelry by the Bay. Our in-house floral business, Petals, will be selling wreaths and Christmas arrangements, as Rebecca and Cathy will be selling their original greeting cards. Candace is bringing quilts, Rebekah will have a display of her Thirty-One handbags, and Kerri will offer an assortment of Avon products.
To learn more about the businesses run by the hardworking, conscientious individuals we support visit our website. We hope to see you there!
