5/4/12

Greetings!

This is a very exciting time for soccer in Indiana and for all associated with United Soccer Alliance of Indiana.  Many hours of work have gone into creating an organization that will (even better) serve you, our members, and our communities.  There are many people to recognize for their efforts and their willingness to set aside personal preferences to work in the best interest of your family, the players, our community, and the game.  This process and great results thus far is simply unprecedented in the history of soccer in Indiana.

Combining Fusion, Indy Burn, and Pike Youth Soccer Club into United Soccer Alliance of Indiana created a soccer program that caters to every level of player:  4 to 18 year old Recreational players, 8 to 19 year old competitive Travel players, the new USAi under 25 year old league, and USAi's Adult Over 25 league.  USAi Travel offers multiple skill levels of play with an unparalleled coaching staff including several full time professional soccer directors.  USAi is the largest youth development soccer club in the state.  This doesn't necessarily mean we're the best...yet.

So what does it mean to be the best?  As a player and a coach my teams won 4 National Championships plus an additional 50 championships.  I understand success.  I also understand what it takes to get there.  I've been involved in this game for over 40 years at every level and have been blessed to be a part of this beautiful game.  This game is rewarding and has helped shaped me as a person.  There have been plenty of ups and downs along the way - all of them valuable learning experiences.  The cultivated knowledge and insights gained during this time have become important lessons that I am blessed to be able to pass along to your player and our members.

My goal is to give back to the game of soccer in order to create opportunities for youth to aspire to achieve their full potential in their lives.   My philosophy is that if one works hard in preparation and training to improve, then the results one achieves are directly associated with that effort.  One does not have to win in order to be the best or successful.  Winning comes as a result of the preparation and commitment one makes to improve.  If our players and coaches do the right things, winning will be the bonus.  Your child will learn important life lessons along the way.  Yes, there will be obstacles, speed bumps, and difficult times upon occasion.  This is all part of the journey to reach one's ultimate personal goals.  It takes perseverance, determination, dedication, and teamwork.  USAi's entire staff is prepared to help you and your child find success every step of the way.  With your help, they will.

To that end, USAi will remain community based and committed to individual development for each player and team.  In addition to the many talented and qualified coaches in the program, we also have specialty coaches to supplement the training provided by the Head Coach.  They include Director of Player Development Will Pfaffenberger, Goalkeeper Coaches, Striker (shooting) Coaches, Technical Directors, Technical Trainers, Speed and Agility specialists, and Age Group Coordinators.  To view the list of your outstanding coaching staff and their bios, click here:  http://unitedsoccerallianceindiana.org/coaching/coaching-staff

United Soccer Alliance of Indiana is more than just a soccer program.  We're a community driven organization that will strive to create more than just soccer teams.  "We Teach More Than Just The Game" is what we believe.  This philosophy guides us to enrich childhood development in a fun learning environment.  Soccer is a beautiful game.  It teaches so many things above and beyond how to just kick a ball - teamwork, sportsmanship, discipline, respect, dealing with adversity, determination, and so much more. These are the qualities that we teach on a daily basis thathelp shape your child's future, support your parenting efforts, and help fulfill USAi's mission to "Develop fine young men and women, one child at a time."

From USAi's community outreach programs, parent education program, and "Special needs" programming, to our top teams and players who seek to play collegiate or professional soccer, we can help you in any stage of your development.  In fact, we already have for many Click here to view alumni who played in college: http://unitedsoccerallianceindiana.org/travel/alumni-news and USAi alumni playing professionally:  http://unitedsoccerallianceindiana.org/travel/pro-news  Our goal with USAi is simple...to provide the best learning experience we can for your children at a reasonable cost.  Participation in USAi is an outstanding experience for our players, and we will strive, always, to exceed your expectations.

We need your help, input, feedback, support, and volunteer effort to make this a great experience for your family and our members.  With 3000 players, 300 coaches, 100 fields in 5 soccer complexes, and 5 home tournaments, we need our "soccer family" to help.  We are here to serve your family.

You will find an increasing array of information posted on the new www.USAindy.org website.  Click here to see the recently posted frequently asked questions:  http://unitedsoccerallianceindiana.org/aboutus/frequently-asked-questions

Tonight, we published a list of the expected number of teams for 2012-2013 with an anticipated coaching assignment:  http://unitedsoccerallianceindiana.org/travel/teams.  Of course, which teams are actually formed and the final coach assignment is completely subject to the results of tryouts.  You will note that many coaches are continuing with their current team and some will remain experts within their current age group.  Most every age group will have a team that trains at your local complex.  It will all work out just fine.  Please feel free to contact your child's coach, any Director, Coach Will, or me at anytime if you have questions or suggestions on how we can improve the USAi soccer experience for your child.

You can be proud of your involvement in this club, and we are honored to serve you.  Thank you for playing with USAi.  Please be sure to help spread the good news about USAi tryouts to your friends and classmates.  However, be careful not to actively recruit players who play for a different travel club until June 1st.  On June 1st invite them and all your friends to come join you at the best Club in Indiana: United Soccer Alliance of Indiana.
