ps. Here's a bit of an email from one of Lori's colleagues at Pike Township Schools.
"We would like to send a special request to encourage the members of our Pike Township Family to join our colleagues at College Park in supporting their amazing physical education teacher Lori Wanser, and her incredible son, Michael, as he makes the most of the final days of his courageous battle with AML. Over the last 10 months, six year old Michael and his family have bravely battled his illness relying on their strong faith, boundless love, infallible humor, and remarkable positivity, as well as Michael's extraordinary courage and awe inspiring ninja-fighting skills. They recently returned from his last trip to St. Jude Hospital to make the most of the time they have left at Peyton Manning's Children's Hospital.
According to the journal that Michael's mother keeps on CaringBridge.org,"Yesterday was an especially exciting day, as the Target Chip Ganassi Racing team and their drivers dedicated their race in Kentucky to "Iron Man" Michael, putting his name on both sides of all the cars. In addition, many of the drivers gave shout-outs to Michael, wishing him well. He also had the opportunity to Skype with some of his favorite superstars from World Wrestling Entertainment, including Triple H, Randy Orton, John Cena, CM Punk, Kofi Kingston, Cody Rhodes, Jack Swagger, Booker T, Mark Henry, Teddy Long, John Morrison, Christian, Sheamus, Eve, Vicki Guerrera, Michael Cole, Evan Bourne, and Kelly Kelly. The significance of this experience cannot be overstated, as the WWE has helped Michael handle the day-to-day tasks of fighting cancer.
He enjoyed a special tribute from over 50 motorcyclists Cruzin for the Cure in his honor, and spent time with the numerous family members and friends who brightened his day with their visits. Lori reports that he didn't rest at all during the day in order to make the most out of every minute, sharing, "He is exhausted but trying to pack a lifetime of memories into a few weeks...Everyone is doing a great job respecting our "no crying" rule although Michael and I did have to look at each other with that all too familiar secret "crybaby" eye roll when a few people were close. We're still laughing till the end because that's what we do...as you all know by now."
