If you want to learn about social services, most every agency is represented.  Dozens of booths.

Tryouts for Indy Burn 2011-2012 teams was wonderful.  Most teams are full.  However, some teams still have openings: u8-u9 girls.  There is a place for all high school boys and girls plus u13 and u14 boys.  Call the Coach.

PSC's 3v3 was great fun last week.  Next year we will invite all PSC families in Rec, Rec Plus and Indy Burn to make it more of an in house soccer party.  PSC 3v3 has teams from u6 to adult in both rec and "travel" skill levels.  See you June, 2012.

 

Indianapolis Department Public Works is surveying the drainage issues along the portion of West 56thStreet that borders Mary & John Geisse Soccer Complex and DPW is committed to addressing in 2011 as much of the drainage issue in this area that makes sense (as one year West 56thStreet will be widened and additional drainage measures will be put in place at that time).  DPW wants to install in 2011 an entrance to MJGSC from 56th Street that will line up with the existing north/south access road and connect where our sign is currently located.  We will keep you posted as decisions are made (nothing finalized yet).

Rec Players 

Register now for Tots, U5-U12 Fall 2011 Rec League or U13-U18
PSC Rec Plus League. Register prior to 7/1/11 and receive $5 off regular rates.  PSC Tots, U5-U12 are small sided teams. U13-U14 teams are same sex, play 11v11, and the U15-U18 teams are coed, play 6v6 in the fall.

IUPUI Names Isang Jacob Men's Soccer Head Coach

IUPUI Director of Athletics announced the hiring of Isang Jacob as the next Head Men's Soccer Coach. Jacob comes to IUPUI after a two-year stint at Penn State as an assistant coach/recruiting coordinator. Coach Jacob led the Indy Burn '90 Eagles to eight straight U.S. Youth Soccer Indiana State Championships from 2002-09. In 2008, all 19 of his players earned athletic or academic scholarships to play collegiate soccer, 17 at the Division I level. He was later tabbed the 2008 Youth Soccer adidas Competitive Coach of the Year.

 

He began his collegiate coaching career in 1995 at IUPUI, including serving as top assistant when the Jaguars made the NCAA Tournament in 2000. Jacob becomes the fifth head coach in the 25-year history of the program.

The Butler University Men's Soccer program has been one of the elite programs in Div I soccer over the last several years achieving unprecedented success in 2010 with an undefeated regular season, a top #10 National Ranking, A Horizon League Championship, and 2 All-American Selections.
Along with the on field success the team also achieved great success in the classroom with an overall 3.3 team GPA.

Indy Burn '92 Boys Premier advance to State Cup final.

Congratulations Indy Burn '92 Boys Premier Finalist Indiana State Cup in a hard fought battle Sunday 6/12 against Indiana Invaders. Indy Burn '92 Boys Premier (U19) defeated FC Pride 92 Elite 4-3 in the semifinals on Saturday to advance to the Finals.

Are your closets filled with old cleats, shin guards and uniforms? Donate them to people in need!Your gently used equipment, which may include cleats, shin guards, balls, uniforms, including Indy Burn uniforms and jerseys, etc., may help someone else play for the first time! Referee uniforms and equipment are also most welcome.  PSC sent several dozen uniforms to children in South America this week.  Look for the plastic tub at the MJGSC snack bar and drop off your Passback donations.
