Life on the Creek!
Ospreys, also known as sea hawks, have been putting on quite a show for us the past month. The osprey is one of the largest birds of prey in North America and eats almost exclusively fish. We are privileged to see them soaring and fishing over the creek daily.
Most entertaining is to watch Osprey's chase the bald eagles. The osprey is protective of its nest and fishing area and does not take kindly to eagles entering the area. Although smaller than the eagle, the osprey is the aggressor, often diving toward the eagle from high above. He is nimble and determined and sustains the chase until the bald eagle moves on to another area.

Amazing Sunset Paddles
June was filled with fantastic paddles and amazing sunsets! We celebrated the summer solstice with a champagne toast at sunset and the June Full Moon was one of the best yet.
We enjoy beautiful scenery and wildlife on all of our paddles, but the sunset paddles offer a bonus show as the sky transforms from crystal blue to vibrant shades of orange, violet and magenta.
Our next Full Moon paddles are scheduled for July 14, 15, and 16. We can provide a fabulous sunset paddle any night of the week. Just give us a call and come on by to enjoy the show.

July 4th Fireworks Paddle
Paddle out from Castaways Campground at sunset for a spectacular show from the unique perspective of a kayak. Observe numerous shore birds and the changing colors of the dusky sky as we paddle out for an exclusive view of the fireworks. The paddle is open to the public and paddlers should meet at the Kayak Shack on the Castaways Beach at 8:00 PM. Cost: $25; Reservations required. Call 443-513-0889.

Paddle Variety
We believe Ayers Creek is one of the most beautiful paddles around, but we also enjoy a little variety in our paddling. If you haven't checked out our new sites at Castaways Campground or Ocean Pines you should give them a try. Both offer an opportunity for some paddling on the bay and new marsh areas to explore. Or if the paddle from Ayers Creek to Trappe Creek is a bit too much, ask about one-way paddles with portage back from Trappe Creek or our Trappe Creek Launch. The Trappe Creek access point provides exclusive access to the nooks and crannies of the creek.

Ocean Pines Wildlife Kayak Tours
We will be offering guided eco tours, departing from the Ocean Pines Swim and Racquet Club on Tuesday July 12th and Monday July 25th. Please meet us at the Swim and Racquet Club at 5:00 PM and learn more about the numerous birds and fish inhabiting your local waterways. All equipment will be provided. $40 Adults, $30 Children 12 and under. Reservations required.

Stand Up Paddle Boarding (SUP)
If you haven't tried Stand Up Paddling Boarding now is the time to join the craze. The calm waters here on Ayers Creek are a great place to give stand up paddling a try. Stand Up Paddling is a lot of fun and provides a great low stress work out.
Come on by and check it out.
Call ahead to ensure paddle board availability.
